i said i would never

you know those heinous rubber boots with wacky patterns? well, i think they are as fugly as uggs and could not imagine why anyone would ever buy them, much less wear them in public.

big deal, my shoes get wet in the rain and then they dry.

anyway, i bought a pair today because i need to wear something like that when we're on the farm this summer. Embarrassed and i'm obviously going to have to wear them in public.

never say never i guess.

i'm pretty darn sure that uggs are still a never though. just NMS.

Re: i said i would never

  • I just have plain black ones for rain.  What about crocs for gardening?  I have a cheap pair from XMAS shop to use for running outside with dog and doing lawn work.  Otherwise reg crocs are not my style but I love my MaryJane Crocs I got while pregnant with Jack.

  • the farm people told us tall work boots. $20 at marshalls for these lovely things. well, i'll be wearing them for the farm and that's probably it!
  • Nice deal.  Mine were more than that from Cabela's, again they are plain and not that bad.

Did the girls get some too for the farm?

  • marshalls only had toddler ones in size 6 which is too small, but they were carters, so i will check the carters store and then target - i'm sure i can get Ava a cheap pair. I think the baby will have to stay with grandparents when i'm there - i can't imagine trying to fill my volunteer hours with a baby strapped on to me and an eye on Ava too! we figure one of us will watch ava while the other works.
  • I love uggs but I will never pay the price for them so I buy knockoffs.  I also love my rain boots but I cannot bring myself to ever wear Crocs.  The only person in my family who wears them is my BIL and that's because he's a doctor so I won't make fun of him for that.  I don't care how badly my feet hurt... I refuse to wear them, lol.

  • hah I always said I hated those things... and first I started marching my kids around in cute rubbery boots...

and I have found myself eyeing them at the stores.. I don't have the hate I used to!

  • I love rain boots and Uggs. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
  • I'm in the market for rain boots for myself and G right now...I think he'd have fun puddle jumping and I don't want to miss out. Fashion be damned :)

  • I saw a cute pair of rain boots at DSW that I want.  They're purple paisley pattern.  I wants them.  They are good for when I'm running around here at Sunnyside in the rain.  It gets muddy here pretty quick.
  • I have "crocs" but not the actual ones - the medical loafers but I have them to stand around in pools of ick-nasty body fluids in while doing surgery.

on a side note, one of my surgeon's wears rubber rain boots....he's classy!
