election party

Is anyone doing anything? ?Going to one? ?Throwing one? ?Sitting at home quietly drinking yourself into a stupor?

I have no tv, and while I could compusively check online, I think I might want to be around people. ?A few of the old historic theaters are apparently having parties, and it might be fun to see people excited/dejected.

Re: election party

  • I might be going to one, though I have to work until 9 (PST). So, it will depend how much has been decided by then. If it's all over, I probably won't go.

  • I can't do election night parties. I am too emotionally invested in the outcome to be either a good host or a good guest.

We are having a few people over on the Friday after the election to hopefully celebrate the outcome or drown our sorrows.

  • At least in a place like Denver, I know I'll be in good company with my reaction to whatever the outcome is. ?They don't even pretend to be bipartisan here with the parties being called Obama victory parties.

  • We are just having 2 friends over. We're ordering pizza and having crudites, cheap red wine, and Wisconsin-shaped cookies. My plan is to dye the cookie dough red, frost them with white frosting, and cover with blue sprinkles. I wanted to make blue cocktails, but we already spent our whole grocery budget. Sad.

  • We are having a party!  25-30 people or so.  I have been preparing for it all weekend.  I started making my swing state cookies yesterday, and I have all my red white and blue decorations made.  I am majorly dorking out.

I'll post on Tuesday and Wednesday.

  • We're going to a party, but we both have to be up early the next day, so it'll be light partying.  We found a bottle of 151 hurricane mix that is randomly blue, so I guess we'll make two flavors of hurricanes...yum...must.stay.sober.
  • that's cool ESF.

I can't imagine staying out/up late on a Tuesday - i'd be useless on Wednesday!

  • One of the perks of being married to a political consultant is invites to sweet election night parties. I may not have seen the man for the past month, but lots of open bars are in my Tuesday-night future!

  • they have a big one in London since there are a ton of expats. We are going to try to go.
  • The ILs have one each election year and we're going for the first time.
