New addition to our family!!

Hi ladies!

I know I am not on here very much, but we have had a whirlwind ever since we got relicensed as a foster home.  We had some major struggles, so now that things are looking up, we are more than escatic.

When we first became relicensed we did not think it would be a huge conflict with Paul's job.  When we fostered before, we either took an out of county case, or they just made sure the GAL assigned to the case was not one that Paul supervised.  So, it really did not turn out to be a big deal.  Well, things have gotten stricter, so it started becoming a problem, and almost every child who came into our home we had to have moved because his office felt it was a conflict.

So, I started getting really frustrated, because our ultimate goal was to adopt.  How were we ever going to do that if we couldn't even keep a child in our home?!  Well, Paul is very close with his coworkers, and they know our TTC struggles.  So, one day about a month ago, his coworker came to him and said that she had a little boy on one of her cases that was in need of an adoptive home.  His parents rights had been terminated, and he was living with his grandmother (or alleged grandmother because it was never proved that her son was the child's father).  Her homestudy was denied to adopt him for financial and health reasons, so DH's coworker knew he would come into foster care in need of a permanent home.  She thought we would be perfect for him.  So, she called the case manager and explained to her about us.  The case manager talked to her supervisor about it, and lo and behold the supervisor was actually the case manager who did Isaiah's adoption!  So, she thought we would be great for him too.

Well, then came the trick part. Unfortunately, the agency we are licensed through has adoptive homes and foster homes.  We are one of the foster homes because they have so manyy adoptive homes on their list for young children, that they could not put us on it.  So, we decided to foster and hopefully along the way fall into a situation like the one we had with Isaiah.  But, when we talked to our licensing counselor about it, she said we had to be careful bc the agency doesnt like it when things work out like this.  WHATEVER that is another whole story i could get up on my soap box about.  But anyways, she told us to have the case manager request our home when the lil guy came into care.  So, that is what they did.  He came to us last night and he is an 11 mo old little sweet heart and we are in love.  If all works out, we should get to adopt him!

Last time, with Isaiah, you ladies were soooo supportive of us through the whole almost 3 year fight for him.  So, I'd love some prayers from u gals again!  THANKS!!
