I may need that bag sooner than expected...
I had my 34 week appointment and non-stress test today. I had finally convinced myself not to worry about the nst since we know she's measuring small (44th percentile at 32 weeks) and that she only has 2 blood vessels.
Her movements were great. They could have pulled me off the nst after just a few minutes. They didn't though. I had 3 contractions within the 30 minutes; one of which was 9 minutes apart. Of course, that earned me a cervical check. I'm dilated to 1 cm.
Dr. Hancock isn't too worried about it. He doesn't think she'll come this week, but who really knows what could happen!

Yeah, that's rather average, I would say. :-)

I'm feeling great! Really, no issues to report. I've had some acid reflux a few nights lately and she's trying to kick her way out right now. I can't feel the contractions at this point.
Babies are supposed to have 3 blood vessels on the umbilical cord, but Baby Ella only has 2. It's not necessarily something that is going to cause problems, but it is enough of a concern that the doctors want to monitor her better. If I understand it correctly, the vessels are where babies obtain nutrients and such to grow. Since she has fewer areas to obtain nutrients, there is the potential for slowed growth or a smaller overall size. That's (growth) the main concern, but a few of the doctors have hinted that there may be other issues closer to labor also associated with the 2 blood vessels. I know I should ask, but I don't know that I want to have something to worry myself with.
I'm really not worried that I'm going to give birth too much too early. Today's doctor (Dr. Hancock) and nurses (Kelli and Laura?) were much more reassuring than the doctor (Dr. Dornbier or however it's spelled) at the last appointment. I think that has helped tremendously in keeping me calm and relaxed. If I had the same doctor this time, I can guarantee you that I'd have my bag packed, forced my husband to stay in DM tonight despite working tomorrow in Creston, etc, etc.
