I hate people

I saw this on the news this morning.

Cliff notes: a young girl who lost her leg to bone cancer was being cyber-bullied. It turns out that her "best friend" was the culprit. Nice, huh? I swear, they should start charging the parents when things like this happen; maybe then they'd teach their kids not to be sociopaths.

If we ever have a kid, I hope pray we have a boy, because girls can be just terrible to each other.

Sigh.

Thats terrible. And sad that someone would do that, especially a supposed friend. Is there something in the water in MA lately? Seriously. This is getting out of hand.

  • When I first read the subject to this post I thought, "hey, me too!" - ha!

This is a really awful story.  I've seen so many bully/cyber-bully stories lately.  It's just appalling.  High school was hard enough without all this technology.  I can't even imagine being there now.

Heh. If it's any consolation, I hate people most of the time. Maybe I should have titled it, "I hate stupid, vile, POS people and their slacker POS parents."  Just to differentiate between this and my daily loathing.

I was just so horrified when I heard the story this morning.

  • WTF?!?!  That would be awful even if the kid hadn't survived cancer.  The girl who did that needs more than counseling.  She's seriously sociopathic.

    Haha!

In all seriousness, though, I completely agree.  I can't even imagine what type of person could/would do something like this.  Very sad.

I hope Justine (I think that's her name?) recovers from it, and realizes what a POS her "friend" is and is able to quickly find a new group of friends who treat her the way she should be treated.

Also, I admire her strength for going on television to talk about it!

For real.  I can only pray that my kids are not bullies or bullied.

Exactly. The fact that she skyped with her as she did it just to see the reaction proves it. I hope the family finds a way to take her to court and get some sort of restitution out of this.  And I hope that girl gets help.

I saw this last night on Fox....made me sick to my stomach.  That is right near my house.  A few of the teachers in my school have daughters there.  It just shows that these actions are not always in the "troubled inner cities"  North Andover is a wealthy town with well-to-do families and this is sickening.  The punishment is so not acceptable....8-10 counseling sessions?  Seriously?  I am so infuriated by this.
