Jersey Shore Fans

Have you heard about this??

Wtf are they supposed to do then??! Sit around their apartment drinking Ron-Ron juice and playing checkers?! This is the worst!

I liked the whole "fish outta water" idea of sending them to Italy, but come on... probably would have been funnier to send them to like Montana or something and see what happened.

Re: Jersey Shore Fans

  • YES!  Chris sent that to me last night... I couldn't believe it.  You would think MTV would have really thought about this before sending them over there too...

  • I heard about this on the radio this morning. I don't watch JS and I think most if not all of the people from the show are tools, so I think what the Mayor of Florence is doing is great.

Italy is filled with an amazing culture and it's a beautiful country. Personally, I was pissed when I heard JS was going to film there because I felt like it would ruin what I've always envisioned the country to be.  The world hates Americans enough as it is...we don't need people traveling the world being drunk messes to contribute to the name we've created for ourselves.

I know a few people that live in NJ that hate the image JS has created for all of them. So, I don't blame Florence for wanting to keep the culture and beauty of the country at the forefront of the show, not the drinking and partying.

  • I heard about this on the radio this morning on my drive into work. Since they can't do any of the things that they actually like maybe they'll go do things that normal people will do. I will totally watch to see Snooki and JWow walk through a musem; can you even imagine. People in Italy are going to hate them and it's going to be hilarious.

Also, can you believe they are getting paid, minimum, $100,000/episode this upcoming season. I think that's outrageous for kids who do nothing but drink, slut it up and paint themselves orange!

What's the appeal to that, though?  Seriously... this show is supposed to be a trainwreck... that's why so many people watch!  If they can't make a spectacle of themselves, then it's just another episode of Real World: Italy.

I agree MB. I don't want to watch them act like normal people, I want to see them be blazing hot messes. I think it'd be better to have them take a little trip to Italy, then fly their orange asses home and send them back to Jersey.

    Exactly.

I mean, yeah, the concept was great, but now I think it's going to be a total flop, and if MTV is going to go through with it, they might as well just pull the plug now.

I think they'll still be nothing but hot messes because they really won't know what to do with themselves. I  was looking at it like this, if they were allowed to be filmed clubbing, drinking, etc...it would be the same as any other season. Like how Miami, in my opinion, was really the same as the first season but somewhere else; the location change didn't make the show any different or more interesting. But making them be in a foreign country that's full of culture and the arts and they can't be filmed doing any of the typical things they do = disaster waiting to happen= me watching the whole season.

  • Wow. What a disappointment! What are they going to film, then?! More Ron and Sam fights?! LOL.

And I have news for you, I'm from Jersey....and I've never seen anyone look/behave the way these people do. Half of them aren't even from Jersey anyway! So dumb.

When is the new season supposed to air?

  • That kinda sucks - I still think watching them walk around Italy will be pretty funny! And I kinda think the mayor is being a little ridiculous - NO ONE thinks that the cast of JS is anything like the people in Florence. I think the point is that they are so different and it will be funny to see them cope with "real" Italians.

I can understand him not wanting his town taken over by the madness though.

And I agree with Rach that the image they portray of Jersey, isn't representative of most of Jersey. Though, when I've gone to certain shore areas it IS a lot like that - but most of those people are not FROM Jersey, they just go there to vacation. And about 95% of the actual Jersey shore is nothing like that in the summer.

Exactly! I go the "Jersey Shore" a dozen times each summer and it's nothing like what is portrayed on the show. I mean yes, Seaside is kinda trashy so I guess it's perfect for them, but there are plenty of really nice places along the JS like Long Beach Island. If the cast showed up there, they'd be ridiculed!

I mean obviously it's a highly entertaining show, but I just think it's silly how they are made out to be a bunch of Italians from Jersey - and really Italian people and people from Jersey are really nothing like that. Oh well, I'll still be watching them make fools of themselves in Italy!
