I think this is the first time I have asked for T&Ps and I wish I didn't have to.
DH's grandfather was admitted into the hospital the other day due to shortness of breath. His primary care Dr told him to go right away. The hospital thought it wasn't all that serious plus they are having overcrowding issues right now. He ended up waiting in the emergency room for several hours and he finally got admitted. They ran some tests yesterday and found out that he has congestive heart failure and the muscles around his heart are super weak and the Drs said he has about 30% usage of his heart.
My heart is seriously breaking for DH and I'm hoping his gpa will somehow pull through this and maybe they can do some sort of surgery to help. He held it together very well yesterday but last night when we layed down he broke down in tears and it was the hardest thing to deal with. That is the first time he has ever cried in front of me and no one is kidding when they say one of the saddest things you will ever see is a grown man crying ![]()
His grandfather is practically his father, his mother and father were very young when they had them and his father ended up meeting someone new and moving all the way to Colorado. His grandparents ended up pretty much raising him. He has spent most of his childhood with his grandfather and he bought him his first truck and has helped him out financially many many times. His grandfather is also pretty much the only family member on his side of the family to be super excited about our little one on the way. Every else seems to think we are ruining our lives by having a baby so young. Every time we see him he asks how his great grandbaby is doing and all he keeps talking about is October when the baby is due. I tend to complain about him because he is a grumpy old man but he is very caring and kind hearted and I just want him to stick around and spend several years with his great grandbaby. Sorry this ended up being a little longer than expected.. but we would appreciate any T&Ps you can throw our way.

Lots of T&Ps coming your way!
I know some people don't like to get their hopes up about things like this, but because of my H's heart condition I know a lot about this. This is a very real possibility in DH's future, but he assures me that people can live for years (decades even) in heart failure. With medication, oxygen therapy and less active lifestyles, people can continue to thrive. I hope that his doctor's are able to help him out and that your H can have many more years with his grandfather in his life.
I'll be thinking about you and your family a lot.

Thank you. I am staying positive for DH because I have had my mother and sister go through something similar and they are both completely okay. My uncle has also had multiple pace makers and he has been dealing with it for over 20 years so I am hoping he will be able to pull through this.
