Online Application Reference Section

I am currently employed but looking at other jobs.  I would like to keep my job hunt under wraps until I have an offer or something more concrete then just looking occurs.  One of the applications I'm completing has a required online section.  The questions must be answered.

One is "Can we contact your current supervisor" yes or no are the only answers, no space is given to explain why you might select no. the other "List the name and contact information for your past three supervisors."  Obviously my current supervisor would be included and my most recent former supervisor also works at this company.  I have to put something in the space in order to move to the next page but would rather not give the contact of these supervisors if there's a chance they might get a call out of the blue.

Re: Online Application Reference Section

  • From my understanding most won't call your current place of work unless you are the actual candidate (at least that is what I have been told when I applied for another job also). Someone can correct me if I am wrong but I believe they will only contact if you end up being the actual person they want to hire.
