If you could have any cupcake right now, what would it be?
Please include cake flavor, frosting, filling, and garnish, if applicable.
Blame this on Cupcake Wars...

Re: Cupcakes
A Boston Creme Pie cupcake. Vanilla cupcake, custard filling, chocolate icing....
mmm...may have to get boston creme pie from somewhere. Dam you, MB.

Mine would be a chocolate cupcake with a chocolate ganache filling with mocha espresso frosting and a chocolate covered espresso bean. nom.

I love a good red velvet cupcake. There are infinitely more good red velvet cupcakes in DC/ VA than there were in MO, apparently I need to keep going South to get the best.
I currently love the Georgetown Cupcakes ones best, because they have the best texture for frosting.
Stand up for something you believe in.
You know it. *muah!*
Oh, I forgot about red velvet....I'm a very picky red velvet person though...not so much over the cake, but over the frosting. It's apparently very easy to screw up a cream cheese icing (as I've tasted more worse than great), but a delicious CC icing is to die for.
I think I might be the only person who isn't crazy about red velvet.... or am I just missing something?

Meh, I'm not too crazy about red velvet either. My favorite part of red velvet is the cream cheese frosting. But, I just use the cream cheese frosting recipe from PLFF for almost everything anyway. So, I don't need the red velvet.
I'll eat just about any cupcake - but right now, I could go for one with rasberry filling. Mmmmmm
I have in my possession a pina colada cupcake recipe that I really want to make.
Or, just chocolate upon chocolate upon chocolate.
Emily, you know alcohol bakes out of cupcakes, right? There is no alcohol in the solid form of anything because it will evaporate on heat contact while the cupcake bakes. Just ditch the spirited icing and you're fine. I feed margarita cupcakes to kids on the regular.

I'm not, either. All it is is a weakly-flavored chocolate cake with a ton of red food coloring.
I want a vanilla vanilla cupcake from Magnolia or a vanilla cupcake with chocolate frosting from Kickass Cupcakes in Somerville. Normally I don't like chocolate frosting all that much, but theirs is delicious.
I'm going to eat a peep instead.
That is only a BAD red velvet cupcake. A good one is airy but sort dense, with a twist of chocolate and a twang of vinegar, all mixed into a heavenly sort of baked good. Most of the places here don't use the artificial bright red coloring either because it alters the flavor (I cut mine in half and use an all natural when I bake them), so they're so so good.

Cake flavor: LEMON
Fillng: RASPBERRY
Frosting: CREAM CHEESE
Garnish: LEMON WEDGE
All of what Mary said. If you've never had a good red velvet, you've never had red velvet. It's more than devil's food cake and red food coloring.
and, MB, I didn't get my Boston Creme Pie, but I DID buy 4 eclairs!
I drive by there every time I go to the doctor's and it looks so cute, but I haven't stopped in. Should tho. Trying to be good. Of course, then I go and down a bag of Cadbury Minieggs...will be very glad when easter is behind us.
Sad, but eclaires are just as good, if not better, IMO!

Totally worth it. Seriously, everything we tried was fantastic.
The Minieggs are killing me too!
OK now I'm intrigued, and Needham isn't that far away.... damn you!

Take a drive!! And, you can build your own cupcake with lots of delicious candy options..It's awesome.
Any time I've driven by in the afternoon, there are all these schoolkids there. It makes me smile and wish that we had stores like that when I was a kid. Of course, I'd have been really fat, but at least I would have been happy. hahaha
