teachers
I am looking for a flexible teaching job and I've found alot of online positions in PA. I have a NJ K-12 teacher of English certification. I took the English content area praxis in 2006, which is also when I got my certification and my full-time job in a public school, so I've been teaching 5 years. Does anyone know how I'd go about getting certified in PA? I checked the website and it looks like because I took the praxis more than 3 years ago I need to take a new test, but I'm not sure what one. I tried calling the dept of ed but they are closed.
Also, if you know anything about online schools please share!

I would look on the dept of education's website and see what it says. You could also call a local college/university and ask to speak to someone in the education dept. I'm sure professors are well-versed in the state requirements.
I think Praxis scores were good for 5 years when I was getting my master's, but I also know the state was in the process of changing a lot of the requirements at the time - I'm just not sure when the rules officially changed.
Also, if you are applying to specific districts, you may want to call their HR and explain your situation and see what they typically require for teachers certified out of state. They may emergency certify you if they are eligible to do so.
