open house: all bathrooms
Re: open house: all bathrooms
We have 2 full bathrooms, one on the1st floor and one on the 2nd. The laundry is also in the 1st floor bath.
1st floor, standing in the doorway:
Laundry:
2nd floor, before moving in, there's now a bar below the window and a small ring "bar" to the right of the window with towels on them:
Better picture of the tile in the bathrooms:
Our bathroom was pretty nice when we bought the house, but then once we started updating the other rooms, we saw a lot of "flaws" in the bathroom, so we decided to re-do it over the last few weeks.
Before:
During:
New paint, old fixtures
So this is why there was buckets of water leaking into the basement once I took the pedestal sink out! BTW - Matt was out of the state when I opened up the wall.
Oh boy, the cold water supply line had a pinhole leak too ...
Add plumber to my resume! Despite the lack of confidence from the guys at Home Depot who tried to convince me to call a plumber on a Sunday in the middle of a blizzard, I fixed both issues myself! Though It was a little nerve wracking to cut my pipes in half ...
After:
New vanity, new mirror (that took three times to deliver for it to arrive in one piece)
New mirror with new shower curtain in the reflection
Just another view
We have 2.5 baths. Half bath downstairs and two full baths upstairs. My favorite is, of course, our master bath jacuzzi tub.
Disclaimer: we haven't painted any of our bathrooms yet. Our Master Bath will probably be some sort of sea green to go along with the teal in the BR, but we aren't 100% sure on this. Our guest bath is going to be almost a lilac, but maybe paler. I have the color swatch picked out already. Our half bath is undecided, but we plan on switching out everything but the shelf we installed and the toilet. The lights will be bronze, the mirror will be in a bronze frame, and we want to get a new vanity and sink with bronze fixtures. I think we're leaning towards a pale orange for the paint.
Master bath- view from our bedroom through double doors (someday we hope to extend the shower out a bit more where you see the small wall and make it all tile with just one swinging door vs the sliding doors):
to the right (toilet and A's vanity- we may close in the toilet one day and make a little room since there's a window next to it):
To the left- my side (our vanities will stay as is, but we do want nicer mirror and lights some day and tile floors):
Guest bath (it's hard to get pics of this room! It'll be the pale purple bathroom with new mirror and light fixtures one day):
Half bath (the print you can't see is Magnolias, that shelf, the towel hook, trash can, and toilet are the only thing staying in this room when we finish it):
It's hard to take other pics of this room (lights, mirror, and pedestal sink have gots to go!):
I'm impressed! Good job, Jules!

Our bathrooms are nothing special. I'm not really in to luxury bathrooms, though. So it's no big deal.
Master bath. First picture looking from bedroom and pocket door. Second picture is the separate shower and toilet area. This is probably the first thing I'm going to work on once school is over. I want to change out the light fixture, paint, add hardware to the cabinet, and rip out the carpet in the vanity area (who puts carpet in a plumbed area?!?!). Our master closet is also in this area, directly across from the vanity.
I like our guest/hall bathroom. It's small, but I love the paint color (it's not as bright as the picture makes it look, much more subtle). When we moved in, we painted and changed the light fixture and mirror out.. It made a huge difference. I might add hardware to the cabinets when I do the other bathroom, but otherwise, I like it.

i can't find the shower pic, but the green tile went all through it and we replaced it with white. the whole room is like 6x6 so its not too exciting.
we have 2 full baths. I don't have good photos of the downstairs bath - it's small and hard to get pictures of:
and my pride and joy (until the kitchen gets done anyway) - the upstairs bath that we renovated last year:

You guys did a fantastic job!
Main floor half bath:
I don't have updated pictures of my master bath, but that's ok...it's still pretty boring. We've got 2.5 baths...the only one that we've really done much to is the .5 bath downstairs, & I love it! I do still want to get a small storage table or something to put opposite the toilet, just haven't found the right one yet.
1/2 bath...from the door,
Towels & picture behind the door:
Mirror & sink:
Guest bath during construction, from the hallway:
Crappy cell phone pictures, we've painted (hard to tell, but the walls are light blue) but that's about it. I'm still looking for some thing to put on the walls.
Master bath during construction. I love my soaking tub & it's so nice to have double sinks.
Not much storage though
We haven't done much decorating, but we did paint, and hung these 2 shelves over the tub.
Our 1 and only bathroom sucks and I can't wait til we re-do it.
I refuse to give B a bath in the tub (not that it is dirty but there is mold behind the surround)
When you walk in:
When you close the door to get to the toilet:
View from between the toilet and shower:
One of my friends best described the size of my bathroom as you can go to the bathroom and wash your hands at the same time. Its sad.
Snapfish finally let me long in, so here we go.
Our first floor "powder room" It is a super tiny room, but it serves it's purpose. I think we have the same tile Emily used to have in her bathroom! This is looking in from the kitchen. It has 2 doors. The other door leads to our guest bedroom. the only changed we made to this room were updating the light fixture, which you can't see, and the mirror.
View from the guest bedroom. This bathroom is so small, you could literally wash your hands while still sitting on the pot!
Our main bathroom, upstairs. It's fairly boring. We haven't changed anything about it. Toilet is to the right of that plastic storage thingy.

This is the main floor bath room. It is pretty tiny and we haven't done anything to it since we moved it. What you don't see is the huge hole in ceiling from where Craig had to fix the leaky pipe.
I hate this sink top, it only looks good right after it is cleaned. I hope we can just replace the sink...
No pictures of the upstairs bathroom because well I think it is the original early 1970s bathroom. Blech!
