XP: Dr Update

First, I love my doctor...she is just so great.  She started off my giving me a 5K flier for a race she is helping to plan because she knows I run.  She completely listened to me about my charting and what I'm seeing.  Went through the plan (tests at 7dpo and cd3 are scheduled!)  Depending on the results, she said the usual route is to try clomid.  I asked about monitoring and she said they would monitor and also went over the risks (even though we don't even know if this is the route we'll need). She said if everything is normal, we will have DH do an SA, but she wants to do my tests first.

Then she told me about her trouble TTC her son (IVF scheduled, then surprise BFP after trying 18 months).  She gets it and that makes me feel so comfortable.

Anyway, now I just need to wait for my tests!  And we'll continue to BIO for the next few days and maybe I won't need the CD3 test (fingers crossed!)

  • BIO is bang-it-out. The GP board changed it from BD a little while ago.

Blender - That is such awesome news that she has a plan in place and knows where you're coming from. Hopefully you guys nail it this cycle and no monitoring will be needed.

  • Glad to hear that there is a plan in place. And as others have said, so glad that you have a doctor you can trust. That is so important.  Bonus that she really does understand.  Keeping fingers crossed that this is your cycle this month and nothing additional will be needed.

  • Good luck! I'm glad to hear that you'll be working with someone you can trust.
  • Agreed.  Glad the doctor's visit wasn't as stressful as you thought it might be and that you guys have a plan of action with a doctor who you trust.

  • Thanks ladies!  I'm feeling good about it.  And I just nailed my 11 mile long run after 2.5 weeks since my last long run, so today is shaping up to be a good day.  I am having a post-run green monster w/berries, greek yogurt, pineapple and banana right now (thinking it could use a touch of vodka), then I am showering and headed out with friends!  It's been a great day all around!

BTW--Mandee, your chart looks awesome this cycle!

ahh, thanks! we actually haven't yoga'd this cycle at all, because we suck. well, to be clear, he sucks. apparently this whole TTC thing stresses HIM out. ya know, because he's the one who takes his temperature every day and pees in a cup for a week to see if he's O-ing, and then waits patiently to see if the great crimson tide will show or not.

so yeah, it's something we're working on. haha. not bitter at all. Stick out tongue

Ga...that sucks.  Ed's been feeling pressured too...I sort of hope that the bloodwork shows some kind of issue (easily fixable please please) with me because it is going to send him for a loop if it turns out to be him.  He acts all nonchalant, but I think the longer we try the more he is thinking he isn't doing something right.  At least I can take my temp/pee in a cup/etc so I feel like I'm doing something...occasionally (though I am working on this) I think I make him feel like just a donor...whoops.

yeah, same here. our problem is that we're both on anxiety meds that complete destroy our yoga lives... I mean we still do it, but not as often as most couples. which means that yoga to get PG is kinda forced, which in turn makes it feel like a chore, when it shouldn't be. it's not that either of us thinks anything is wrong, it's just that pressure of knowing that "omg, this is the week we need to yoga every other day"... takes the fun out of it. =/

soooo we're (or, um, I am) going to take a little break from the temping and charting and OPK and all that business and just go au naturale for a while. if nothing happens in a couple months, we'll take another direction.

Fingers crossed that your bloodwork comes back with some answers!
