Question for runners

What do you do in the summer when it's hot outside? I've been trying to go outside for runs during lunch time, but I've realized that's not going to work when the weather gets hotter. I used to get up early and go for a run before work, but that's not going to work with my new (earlier) work schedule. I guess my options are running on the treadmill (blech!) or figuring out how to run in 90 degree weather and not pass out. Not good options! What do you do?

Re: Question for runners

  • I run at lunch with some work friends, and we still run outside even when it is crazy hot and humid. We've got a locker room at our office, so we can take quick showers if needed.

I'll confess, though, that I am the pig that usually just goes into the bathroom and wipes myself down with some wet paper towels. I also just cool off for a little bit in my running clothes before I change back into work clothes.

  • You already nixed what I do.  Early mornings!  I have gone a few times in the evenings in the summer and it's not too bad either.  .
  • I just make sure to hydrate before I run and I run with water.  The weather here actually isn't too bad, but I am from the south so I probably have a higher temp. tolerance.
