Ok, I need lots of recommendations (Oxford, L.O., Roch.)
Alright ladies, I need lots of recommendations. We live in Oxford, but I would be more then willing to drive for good service.
Here are some of the areas I need reccs for: (bonus points if you can rec a place and person)
- Good place to get eyebrows waxed
- Pedi place. (mid range price is good. Don't want to spend 60 on a pedi, but don't want a foot infection either)
- Work out place/gym (bonus if the offer any prenatal classes or anything)
I have been feeling a bit down since the move, and I thought maybe if I got out of the house some and pampered myself it could help with my mood. Thanks so much!
Re: Ok, I need lots of recommendations (Oxford, L.O., Roch.)
I'm a Rochester person so I only have good recs for that area but:
1. Hair Salon- Salon Bliss on Rochester Rd@ Avon Rd. Several of the ladies on the board use stylists from this salon. I always go to Kelly.
2. Eyebrows- Maria at Salon Bliss.
3. Pedi- Modern Nails & Tanning in the Hollywood Market shopping center at Rochester Rd & Tienken. Consistently good service from all of the nail techs. (I've used all five of them and been VERY happy with the results.) Best nail place in Rochester downtown IMO.
4. Massage- Ian at Massage Envy. Rochester Rd & Tienken in the Papa Joe's shopping center.
5. Coffee- Bean & Leaf at Rochester Rd& University.
Be really careful who you get there! I got a woman named "V" who WRECKED my nails. Took more than 6 months for them to grow out.
Thanks for the heads up!
I drive from the eastside to get my hair done @ Salon Bliss. I only go to Dawn.
I've never been but my friend Kelly goes there and LOVES it.
I didn't love Luv nails...the polish started peeling 2 days later.
I don't have any recommendations for that area, but yelp.com is a great tool for reviews of different places. There is also a free phone app for it. Welcome!
Thank you so much everyone!
I go there. I LOVE it. Shannon is my favorite teacher.
Any spa service - Stephen James in downtown Rochester. I've gotten several spa treatments there from Toni, she is excellent. It's a little more pricey, but they also do mani/pedi and it's just as wonderful.
Gym - Burn Fitness (at Adams & M-59 near Walmart) it's cheap and has everything you'd probably need and they have child care.
Yoga - I've never been to Red Lotus but hear great things, I've been to Updog Yoga a few times and have enjoyed their classes
Coffee- I'm a Starbucks girl, there are many locations
I lived in Oxford for most of 2010 with my in-laws before getting married last summer. Here are my recomendations:
A great place to get lunch, dinner, or drinks is Victoria's in downtown Oxford. My inlaws have been going there since she started the business and I make a point to go almost every time I am in town. The dessert crepes are so good!
I hope you will enjoy livign in Oxford. I found it to be a very nice little town, but still close to all the big city things you could want. I'd move back there if it were clsoer to where we work.
