So how is the puppy doing? I hope she's doing good, what does your stepdaughter think of her?

Re: **Stripes**
The puppy is a HOT mess. We start training tomorrow, thank God. It took her awhile to come out of her shell but she is definitely showing her attitude now - she is a Wild Child. She loves to jump and BITE (she drew blood last night) so I am really worried about that. She has no control over her limbs which is just hilarious when she is flopping about the yard. She is getting better about walking on a leash. She can jump pretty high now which means we often find her in our bed or on the living room furniture which is a no no. She loves car rides with the husband. I love her to death but she is NAUGHTY!!!!
SD seemed to like her. Dasher doesn't quite realize how strong she is so we have to really watch her around SD. SD loves our cats but is frustrated that she can't play rough with them - I think Dasher is the answer to her animal prayers!!!
We are struggling a bit with the potty training. We crate her at night and she does fine. But she is still pooping and peeing all over our house. In fact, I came home early today from work to walk her - she had been outside all day yet when she walked in the house she immediately pooped on the floor in our bedroom. Hopefully training will help with that.
LOL! Sounds like she's made herself at home! I know what you mean about being a wild child, one of our dogs is like that and it can be a little exhausting at times.
As far as the potty training goes, try cleaning up her messes with a cleaner called Natures Miracle. You can buy it at Petsmart and it really works. It takes the smell completely out of the carpet. When we potty trained Lucy we did the bell system, were you tie bells to the door and teach her to ring them when she needs to go out. It took a few weeks but she got the hang of it and it worked really well because before she would never tell us when she needed to go, she would just go.
I hope training helps you guys with some of these problems, we've done puppy class and basic obedience and then also a refresher course and it has worked wonders for us! Hang in there, it does get easier I promise!
