H and I are going to begin car shopping this weekend..... YAY! But it is becaus ym car has decided it wants to crap out on us and we would rather not throw more money into esp with a baby on the way.
I know right now it is still a buyers market, but I feel like a bum haggling with dealers.
I have found an SUV (2009 Honda Piolot EX with 30K miles)online I like they are asking almost $26K right now. I want to offer $22 and then throw in that we will be putting X amount down on it so that we only have to finance X amount including their dealer fees.
Is lowering the price by $4K too much, I am willing to go up to 23.5 and then put money down but I just feel like I should be taking advantage of the buyers market.
What are your thoughts and suggestions? Do I begin even lower?

When I just bought my new car, we walked in saying we were already pre-approved through our bank, but wouldn't tell them for how much. We asked for the bottom line right away. The salesmen didn't like that, but it cut down on the haggling.
Also, go on KBB & find out what your trade in & the Pilot is worth.
I definitely don't think lowering their price by 4K is too much.
The car we bought was a 2010 with 80 miles on it. We bought it for 5K less than their advertised price.
