BR: Recommend your monitor
We got the Sony Baby Call monitors and I hate them. Our cell
phones and the dog's invisible fence collars interfere with them and
they make these horrible noises that wake me up in the middle of the
night.
We aren't all that interested in a video monitor but it's not entirely off the list.
So please recommend yours. Bonus points if you keep your cell phone next to where the monitor goes and have no problems!!
TIA
Baby, you've got the sort of eyes that tell me tales...

Maybe mine is defective? I read such awesome reviews. I can't be the only one who keeps it near their cell phone right? Every time I get an email or something it screeches.

That is an odd one- this is the only one that has been recommended to me.. maybe yours is defective... All of my friends have used this one and love it and we have ours setup and didnt seem to have any interference in the few minutes we had it setup. I guess we will see soon enough.
I can keep mine next to my phone with no problem. Have you tried changing the channels? I can't think of any other way as to why there would be so much feedback... unless, like you said, it could be defective.

Yea we have changed them a million times. One night it will be fine, then the next it goes crazy.
I will keep trying. Or return them and re-buy them.

We have the Graco direct connect monitor and so far we have not had any problems with it, and I really like it.
It tells you the temp in the babys room and it lights up and vibrates when she cries. I can also turn on a nightlight with it and talk to her through it.
Both of our sisters have tried a few different ones and both ended up settling on ones made by electronic companies ( instead of the baby brand companies). I know my sister loves her Sony.
A word of caution with the video one's: they have great range. Sure that sounds good but you can also pick up the video of a neighbor down the street if they the same type (so they can see yours as well). J's sister had one and I guess the neighbor's baby normally sleeps in the parent's bedroom. Well, the neighbor lady forgot to turn off the moniter and decided to fully change her clothing. It happened at the exact same time that J's sister was checking it to see how her DD was doing and caught a glimpse of her neighbor fully naked. Not what you expect to see !

bahahahha!
Yea I'm honestly not all that interested in a video one. I think I'd stare at it all night.
I'm gonna try the Sony again but move it away from my phone and play around with the channels again.

I have this too; LOVE it! It's worth the $$
