Hi!
Not sure if this is the right board or not, but I was hoping someone could give me some guidance! We have a bird stuck in our chimney! Short of calling a chimney sweep, does anyone have any ideas on what we can do to get it out? It chirps at random moments and flaps it's wings and scares the crap out of me when I'm sitting on the couch! We left the flue open with the hopes it may fly into the house and we can catch it, and we've looked up with a flashlight but we don't know where it is stuck.. any ideas?
Thanks all!
Re: Chimney Guest
He may be stuck up by the cap (if you have one)
I worked at a chimney sweep business for YEARS - everything from office manager to covering for techs when we had call outs. Not sure about how other places have their policy set but with us, if there was a live animal in the chimney, pest control or animal control had to come out.
Just a thought... have you tried putting a little thing of water and bird food (or bread) in the fireplace? Maybe it would attract it down. I'm not a bird expert though, just a chimney expert!
