Re: bridezilla
Yeah, it would definitely be the longest text EVER if I went through the entire story that way, lol. Get ready for a story (that probably makes little sense).
Last week the headboard FINALLY arrived. Here's my whole issue with BRU (and it might just be Nanuet but it's also their outside vendors).
I put the order in for my dresser and crib in the beginning of February because they were having an amazing deal -- we turned in my old crib so we had 20% off, then we were able to use 20% off on the dresser. If we spent so much, we would get another $100 in BRU gift cards. We were told it would take 3-4 weeks for delivery to the store and we could pick it up. BRU never called to tell us that the furniture arrived so I had to annoy them for two or three days before it arrived. We picked up the furniture Feb. 28 and March 1st (they arrived seperately) and there was a big crack on the bottom of the crib headboard (it would basically split if we put it together) and the middle right drawer on the dresser was all scuffed up. We went in and put in a parts order. The parts were to arrive in 2-3 days at our house. Nothing arrived in that time. Called the store -- half the time they had no idea what order I was talking about because they couldn't find it on the computer. Then their phones would be down for days and I would have to drive my butt to the store and find out what was going on. They told us Baby Cache was on back order... fine. It would arrive in another week or so. This happened until the middle of April! BRU knew me by name and face because I went in there over and over. They kept blaming Baby Cache who wouldn't return emails or calls. They even called Baby Cache in front of me assuring that the order would arrive and it STILL DIDN'T! Finally the drawer arrived but I was still waiting for the crib headboard. The manager I was dealing with made sure it arrived at the store on her last day of employment (great, now I had to work with the rest of the idiots in that store who knew nothing). The next day I got a call saying that the BRU delivery company would be calling me to deliver it to my house (yeah, Baby Cache screwed it all up after everything and sent it to the store instead of my house). Well the delivery company never called me. I called back so aggravated for the next two days. They didn't get the delivery order for about 5 days. Finally, it arrived last week in perfect condition (could you imagine what I would have done if it hadn't?).
The part that p!ssed me off the most during this process is that BRU did NOTHING to make the customer happy. I wrote and called corporate and still nothing was done. I have about $400 or so in gift cards to use at BRU and after those are up, I am never stepping foot in that store or giving them my money.
woof! wow. we have an employee discount we are using at BRU. Dh's uncle works in corporate. so we will get 40% off and then open up a charge for an additional 20% off. Doesn't mean we are going crazy. I love the Baby Cache that you picked out and since we are probably going to live here till LO is 2 I want him to have a good crib that converts in the future.
How long did it take to ship everything in the end?
Hello. I've waited here for you. Everlong<3
Bridezilla- what Baby Cache did you get?
We have it. I do LOVE it but it gets marked up and scratched easily so for the money it was it is disappointing. I never had an issues with shipping, all pieces came to store within 2 weeks and I loaded in pickup to take home (they suck at tying sh!t down so I did it 30 weeks pregnant once they put in it my truck).
We have Hertiage in Cherry(crib, armoire, changer). Buying nightstand and conversion kit soon.
Nybride- if you are sharing a room the furniture is very big, I know you said your room is 11x17 but just a warning, you may want to see mini cribs also. I had a room that was 20x24 growing up and looking at space couldn't fit all baby stuff in there.
I have the Oxford Lifetime crib and dresser. We are sharing a bedroom with Baby H as well but we only have the dresser set up. He will be in a cradle the first three months. Be careful... I heard the conversion kit is a b!tch to order. I'm afraid to order it now. With everything, it took over 2 months for all of the furniture to come in.
we are doing a lot of downsizing which sucks bc i have a lot of clothes.. removing one big dressing and only having one night stand and one tall dress.. we may look into mini cribs for the time being also. g measured everything out in the room as well how much space we have for one cribe and a changing table. knowing that the furniture is huge is a big help. thanks for the suggestion.
bridezilla- did you set up the furniture yet or are you waiting?
Hello. I've waited here for you. Everlong<3
The crib isn't set up but is stored in pieces at my parents' house for the time being. He will be in it by August for sure. The dresser/changing table is already set up. We just have a dresser/changing table, two small nightstands, cradle, rocking chair and tall dresser in the room. I'll go make my bed and take a picture for you, lol.
Everything all set up! We decided not to hang anything else up on the walls that wasn't already there since we will be moving. We have way more things for his actual nursery.
ohhh so cute! babi italia we also love. ur little nursery is so cute. think we might have to start a AW your nursery post!
Hello. I've waited here for you. Everlong<3
Hey ladies- lol, I obviously don't know how to do a PIP and spent the last 10 min. trying to get rid of the double pics! Oh, and the online pic I posted is the newest version. Bridezilla- I understand your frustration. I wanted to hurt the cashier at CVS the other day- poor customer service is unacceptable and you shouldn't have to chase after your order. BRU should be contacting you! Like I said, I didn't deal much with the actual people. Did your DH get involved? See, I can't even share stories like "your crib story" w my DH because he would make such a scene I wouldn't want to step foot in the store again, lol.
nybride- I'm loving the siggy pic!
I agree.. they should have contacted me! I would give them a day or two and if I didn't hear from them, I had to call back. They were NEVER the first to call me despite saying, "Don't worry. We'll call you when your order comes in." H didn't get involved much. He went to the store one time in person but I was there as well. I'm the one who will rant, rave and scream until I get things done. It's that Sicilian temper
Omg...I know about those Sicilian tempers (so politically incorrect, I know). With DH it's that Jamaican temper!
LMAO! Hey, the tempers come in handy for yelling at customer service.
