Thankful Thursday?

Anyone else in a thankful mood?

I'm thankful for the stock market being closed tomorrow and therefore my work also being closed.

I'm thankful for both of my bosses and their real commitment to me, both in recognizing my work and advancing in our company.

I'm thankful we get paid tomorrow and it includes our bonus.

I'm thankful for every one of the thousand miles separating me and my mother right now, because I am relatively sure I would be in jail right now if we lived closer.

I'm thankful for my husband who is loving and supportive even when my family is completely insane.   And that he has a good sense of humor and can laugh at the ridiculousness that my mother is currently perpetrating on our life.

I'm also thankful for a successful surgery, even if I'm still swollen and itchy around my stitches, improving our chances TTC is worth it.

Re: Thankful Thursday?

  • I am thankful that after looking for almost 6 months, I finally got a job this week! It isn't exactly what I thought I'd be doing, but the company is awesome and they're really excited/enthusiastic about me and what I can bring to the organization. After getting screwed out of a couple of jobs because of nepotism and other bullshiz, it feels really good.

I am thankful for my parents. They have done so much for me, and continue to be the best. They're amazing. Period. Especially compared to CB's parents......

I am thankful that my eye infection/allergies are finally under control. It sucks that a bunch of my eyelashes have fallen out (but Mom paid for latissee for me -see, told you she rocked!) but I'm happy that the doc was able to identify what the prob was and we are on the right track to treating it.

I am thankful for our beautiful wedding and how smoothly it went... and that it's OVER. Seeing my SIL struggle with her wedding, the annoying details, all the drama, etc. makes me so happy for how smoothly everything went for ours. And happy that it's a distant memory.

Always thankful for CB. Loves him.

YAY!  I know exactly how good that feels.   Congrats!  And I'm glad your eye issues are better!

  • I am super, super thankful that I don't have to work much longer - or after the baby is here for that matter. Josh was SO great when we talked about when I'd be putting in my notice. He was like, "I don't care hun, you can put it in anytime you want". Awwwww. He's so great!

  • I'm grateful for laughter and friends to share that with.

Also, for my family. My sister showed me a video of my BIL dancing with my niece. I was crying, and I'm starting to cry now. It hit so many feelings that I couldn't really contain it. Happy, so happy that my niece has an amazing father. She was so adorable and just carefree in her dance. Like, life is going to have hardships and she had a happy moment. She has a dad, I didn't have that growing up. It was just a lot to take. Awesome and tugged my heart strings something serious.

My niece stayed over last night too. She was so cute, and Anwar watched her when my sister and I went to dinner after service. He was so cute when I got home. Holding her while she slept. ugh.

This is subjective. When you're on the hunt for a job and it seems like life is crap staying at home blows....but if you are financially stable and don't HAVE to work, it's the best thing. Which is why I love working in the school system...3 month paid vacation every year! THAT kind of SAH is what I'm talking about! But, I've been through the stuck at home looking for a job too and that blows to hell.

  • We went to a fantastic church service last night. It really made me think about the sacrifices that have been made for me and I had a "come to Jesus moment" (that may be something people only say in the South). Basically, I have no right to be sad about the things I don't have. I'm so lucky to have a fantastic husband and family, wonderful job, lovely home and food. Who am I to be all depressed about what I don't have?
  • I'm thankful that I am off of work today and don't go back until Monday. We don't get a "spring break," just an Easter break and our last break was Presidents' Day. WAAAAAAY too long without a break. The kids are crazy, the adults are crazy and it just needed to happen.

Also thankful that when I go back to work on Tuesday that there will only be 22 student days of school left (26 for me).

    We say it too.

I'm glad you had some encouragement. I love this week for church. We have a busy lineup, and I'm stoked!

So true.  I constantly have to remind myself that same thing.  This should maybe go in the Confessions thread, but the other day I was getting so upset that we can't afford to buy a Pottery Barn sectional for our mostly empty hearth room right now.  I had to stop and remind myself that I'm so fortunate to have so many things that so many people don't. It's completely disgusting and ridiculous that I was even depressed about a stupid couch.  Embarrassed

  • Working on this benefit for my co-worker makes me so thankful that I have a healthy husband (my health as well) and we don't have the stress and pain of doctors visits, medical bills, and not knowing when he will get better.

  • I should also add that I'm thankful this baby has made it to 34 weeks so far after the short cervix diagnosis 6 weeks ago.  I'm thankful for every week Baby C keeps cooking, in spite of the pain I've been in.

  • I'm thankful for having a job and a home.  I'm very thankful for Patrick being open minded and willing to listen to what I have to say.

  • This is partially more "confessions" appropriate as well but I'll put it here.

The green eyed monster of jealously has been rearing it's ugly head in my life recently. It seems like "everyone" is either buying their houses, getting better jobs/promotions or having babies. It's been making me feel like a life slacker and more than a little jealous...but then I mentally b!tch slapped myself and reminded myself how lucky I am that:

Jay and I basically have free reign of my parent's house here in IL without having to pay any bills. My mom is amazing and so generous and it is because of her and my stepdad that Jay and I are not in tons more debt and may be able to start looking for a house as early as this summer.

I'm also so thankful that I have a husband who can put up with my special brand of crazy. He agreed to move into my parents house despite being uncomfortable because he knew it was the best thing for us in the long run. He is the best despite is lack of participation in household chores lately!

I'm grateful for my job that provides me with a good paycheck, good networking and a fun work environment...despite the fact that my officemate is currently driving me insane!

  • I'm grateful for Stee's Nana kicking cancer's butt and Mary and Amanda are doing well...  I'm glad all my pregnant ladies are staying strong and healthy...

I'm grateful my boss is out so I can be on here today.

I'm grateful H and I are employed, have a roof over our heads and food to eat.

I'm thankful to have my beautiful son who I adore despite any challenges motherhood has thrown my way..

  • I'm thankful for my amazing husband who has been such a source of love and support throughout our trials over the last year.

I'm thankful to have a steady job that I enjoy and allows us to live comfortably and work toward achieving our goals.

I'm thankful that we are both healthy, and have a good marriage with open communication.

I'm thankful that my dad is finally happy. He had a rough year too, between his dad and uncle's death, and helping me with my mom's funeral in spite of their divorce a decade earlier. He's amazing and deserves all the best in the world.
