So I know Mesa has and loves the CRV, but anyone else look at this car and buy one or not buy one?
We are going to need a bigger car, and we want something more reliable in the snow/bad weather.
One of MIL's friends can get us a Honda at invoice and we think that sounds like a good deal...I'm hoping with money down and our trade in we can get payments to under $400 a month.
Thoughts on the CRV?
Re: Honda girls - CRV?
Here's a bonus for you-- if anything goes wrong, you can always ask my DH for advice since he worked in the service dept at a Honda dealership for a while and can tell you if you are getting scammed for repairs.
I LOVE my CRV!!!! Actually, she will be 5 yrs old on the 24th. When we first got it, we would fight over who would drive it but it is technically mine. My Civic died and I had to get a new car. So the loan is in my name but DH pays half of the loan payment...hahaha!
I have the 2006 and I got it brand new. We have taken it everywhere with us. I think we have traveled most of the state of CA and parts of NV. We have taken it to our annual camping trips and just love it. It is also fuel efficient which is a bonus esp with the rising gas prices and the crappy CA roads.
When I got into my accident 2 yrs ago, you would have never known and she was repaired back to good as new.
I love how it is higher than my old Civic and DH's Civic. We are Honda fans for sure.
I am not a fan of the newer models but that is just me.
we checked these out when we were considering replacing our Forester. We test drove the CRV and the Rav 4 (Toyota). I like the size, and they're pretty similar to one and another. I have had very minimal maintenance on my Acura, and given that its basically a Civic coupe with nicer trim, I am a happy Honda owner
I don't have any desire to go bigger than this size (ok, maybe an Outback) unless we somehow end up with 4 kids. There's plenty of luggage room - we took 4 people in the forester to Ohio last yr with plenty of packing room to spare (albeit no kids junk). There was SOMETHING about the CRV that annoyed me but I can't remember what it was. The Rav4 door opens sideways which was totally a turnoff since it limits the cargo area a little in terms of what can go in there (and clearance needed to open the door, which is probably a bigger deal).
All that said, we're going to replace the Forester when an Outback (most likely; if not it'll be another Forester) in a couple of years.

FWIW-we went with the CRV since we will more than likely only have one child...
Since I am small, I prefer a small but decent size car.
We didn't test drive the SUV's, but we test drove all the sedans (Altima, Camry, Accord, Mazda 6), and ended up with the Camry.
I'm pretty convinced that my mom-car will be a Venza, which is just the Camry a little souped up as a wagon, but I like the 4Runners and Highlanders too (although a bit expensive for us now).
I recently saw the Venza on the road and really like the look of it! I like how it is more wagan-like than SUV-like. I like the look of the Ford Edge too, but it is a bigger vehicle over all.

Good to know!
Thanks for all the feedback ladies...I think for us, the CRV seems huge since we have small cars and a tiny dog :-) I know kids come with a lot of stuff, but the trunk seems big to us now...and I like the Pilot but it is just SO big. I don't think we could handle something that big. It would not fit in our garage I don't think, and it just seems like too much car/too much gas guzzling!
haha actually the pilot isn't so big, it is one of the smallest 3 seaters (besides the mazda one) That's why we are considering it.
Just wait till you take your first trip with baby! It's amazing how much junk they have!
