I am looking to find a baby gate that is about 6 feet long, and can go outside? Does anyone have any recommendations? TIA!!

I'm not sure how much this one is but it looks nice.
I have one in my basement. I only needed 2 of 3 pieces and it goes up to 144 inches (12 feet). I believe it can be used outside and free standing as part of 2 sets. Got it at BRU

We have an opening from our living room to kitchen that is four feet. We bought this one:

I love it. it is so sturdy...which we needed b/c DD would totally knock down any other kind LOL. Looks like it will work for you as it says it fits openings 28" to 57.5" wide. It also comes with one 5" extension and two 10" extensions.
we've got this- http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2266978
we actually have 3 extensions with it- so you can basically make it as long as you need. we use it in pieces now but we used to have the whole thing together and fenced off an entire wall of our living room
