PSA: Free Starbucks Coffee!

In honor of Earth Day tomorrow, Starbucks is giving away free coffee to anyone who brings in a travel mug!

From their FB Event page:

One person can save trees, together we can save forests. Join us on Earth Day, April 22, to reduce our collective environmental footprint. Bring your travel mug into Starbucks on Earth Day and we?ll give you a free brewed coffee or tea to say thanks for doing your part.

Share a photo of your travel mug with all your friends and pledge to bring in your travel mug on Earth Day. Or help spread the word by downloading our Earth Day t
...ravel mug icon and using it as your Twitter or Facebook profile picture.

If you don?t have a travel mug, you can still get involved. All travel mugs are 20% off all day long on Earth Day. If you don't want to purchase a mug, just ask a barista for your drink in a ceramic, for-here mug.

Since we first opened our doors 40 years ago, we?ve always believed in being good neighbors. Every Starbucks is part of a community, and we?re committed to helping create thriving neighborhoods wherever we do business. It?s a commitment rooted deep in our belief that we can use our scale to be a catalyst for positive change.

The Starbucks white cup has become an iconic part of our coffeehouse experience. But we also know its recycling is a concern to our customers, to us and to our planet. To minimize our carbon footprint, we?ve set a goal to have 100% of our cups be recyclable and to serve 25% of beverages made in stores in reusable cups, by 2015.

You and Starbucks. It?s bigger than coffee.

Yay free!  Yay coffee!  Yay Earth day!  .... but mostly yay free coffee!

Re: PSA: Free Starbucks Coffee!

  • I wonder how much begging it would take to get them to fill my mug with a free half-caf vanilla latte instead... Their plain brewed coffee is naaaaasty.

  • I don't even go anymore:( It's just not the same without caffeine! My baristas probably think I died!
  • Rach, I know it comes down to what you're comfortable with for you and your baby, but if you want a tall latte every once in a while, you can have one. I have "real" ones on occasion. Talls only have one shot of espresso in them which is about 80mg of caffeine on average.  The rest is just milk (and syrup.)  You can also get them half-caf.  And I don't think the decaf drinks are bad at all, but I know some people think the decaf tastes funny.

I know:( I could have some once in a while, but I guess I'm just a person of extremes! I think if I had one, it would just make me want to have them every day....and I'd rather not get into that habit.

And that's exactly why I didnt drink coffee during my pregnancy either.  Better to stop cold turkey than constantly crave.... but I do confess, once the Pumpkin Spice Lattes came out at the end of August, I was almost a 1-a-day girl.  Decaf at first, but the close I was to FT, the more caffeine I ingested.

Lol:) For some reason the pumpkin spice lattes seem less caffeine-ish...but maybe it's just the color that's fooling me!

I think I'd rather save up my caffeine intake for chocolate, anyway! :)
