Running trail in/near Cascade?
This was mentioned semi-recently, I'm sure of it. Can anyone help me figure out what I'm talking about?
Our running group's long run is 19 miles this weekend. We're in SE GR and I'd love to have us run (as far as possible) on a trail. I've run around the 1-mile loop off Thornapple/96, and part of the paved trail that runs along Burton/Spaulding, but other than that, I know nothing of routes in that area.
We'd be coming from Eastern/Burton. THANKS!
Re: Running trail in/near Cascade?
We just got the West Michigan Trails magazine in the mail yesterday. Maps of EVERY SINGLE trail (current and proposed, paved and gravel) from Southwest Michigan all the way to Northwest Michigan. There's whole loops of trails in Cascade, Ada & Forest Hills, but looks like the maps on their website aren't working right, at least not for me. (www.WestMichiganTrails.com).
The paved trail starts at Forest Hill Ave & Cascade and runs down Cascade to 36th Street, then east on 36th to Buttrick and up Buttrick to Thornapple River, back down Thornapple River to Cascade. It also makes a great big loop north on Forest Hill Ave to Knapp & Honey Creek and around.
The website says you can get the magazine at a bunch of bike shops in the area, might be worth tracking one down. These maps are great!
Fantastic info, thanks a ton!

I was at a work meeting today and the lady that helped coordinate the magazine was there with them. I was going to post about this later time. Small world.
Kate - I have a few extra copies of the magzine. I can drop one off with you this weekend if you want.
Yes, PLEASE!
I'd love that. And I can give you your freezer food, too.
FB to let me know when.
