Does this make me a bad person...

Okay, so you all know that Jeff and I tried for about 8 months to get pregnant without success. We, well I, decided that I couldn't handle the stress of it all right now, and since we were at the 9 months out from my endo lap date (which they want you pregnant within 9 months after), I decided it was time for a break from the actively peeing-on-sticks, humping-every-fricking-day, taking-make-me-feel-like-crap-hormones, and just went on the "if it happens, it happens" route. I also have completely devoted myself to losing weight before our big family reunion this summer (hence, the ticker below) and having fun for this summer before we give it our all this coming fall/winter to get pregnant. So, when I was four days late this month, I was of course excited at the thought of being pregnant, but somewhat relieved when I got my period this morning. We just have a lot of stuff planned for this Spring/Summer that would not be manageable with a pregnancy. I, of course, would have been thrilled if we had gotten pregnant, but for right now I feel like we just need to kick back and have a good five months of just being us until we start a family.

Oh, and for anyone with bad cramps or other menstrual symptoms...can I just say that Excedrin Menstrual is basically a miracle drug. I actually feel kind of drunk at work, which is fun. Haha! It kicks Midol's ass!!!

  • No it doesn't make you a bad person at all!  You're still plenty young so enjoy your last spring/summer of freedom and GO CRAZY!

  • I think that's really healthy Danie: you are happy if you have a BFP, but you are also enjoying life to its fullest before that happens!

  • It doesn't make you a bad person, just an honest one. When the time is right it will happen - it may not seem like the right time for you but it will be the right time. Enjoy your summer. Like Mel said, you're young & you have plenty of time.
