BR: Convertible car seats

Anyone know anything about these? I saw them in a babies r us coupon book and am wondering about them. We have an infant car seat that stays in my car, but now that we are both going back to work we need either another base or car seat. If these convertible seats are good and safe, we'd be saving money for when drake is ready for a forward facing seat. These seats are on sale right now and I have $15 in babies r us bucks so I'm hoping to buy a base or seat soon. Tia!

We have this one.  We got it when Weston was about 5 months since he is such a big baby, he not longer fit comfortably in the infant carrier.  This one sits in the rear position from 5-40 lbs and front facing from 20-65 lbs (even if Weston is 23 lbs, he obviously faces backwards.)

I love it.  It was recommended by a friend.  I call it his king's throne :)

  • I know I need to get one because Ellie is now about 1/2 a pound away from passing the weight limit for her carrier seat. We're planning to keep her rear facing for as long as possible though, even though she'll be 1 in two weeks.

    Thats the one we have.

Luckily, Sami is still small enough to fit into the travel system's carseat so we don't need to worry about changing over yet!

Did you know the new recommendations are to keep children rear-facing til 2 years?

Yep. That's why we're not flipping her yet.

  • We just bought Phoenix this one but she doesn't meet the minimum 20lbs for it yet. Like you said, this is pretty much the last car seat we'll have to buy since it goes up to 100lbs and converts to the two booster seat options. And we got it on sale (probably the same one you're talking about) so it was a great deal.

ETA - They do have this style in more boyish designs too
