It's been a rough few days in the hospital but I am finally home. The surgery was a bit delayed on Monday and didn't even get started until after 5:00pm. The surgery itself only took about 90 minutes I believe, during which they removed the "cyst", my right ovary, and my fallopian tube as well. Apparently this "cyst" actually ended up being diagnosed as a tumor, due to something about the characteristics of the fluid inside. They did an initial testing of a "frozen section" while I was still in surgery to check for abnormalities and it came back negative. Due to the size of the tumor, they did end up sending the whole thing to the lab after surgery so that they could test every part of it. My Dr. just got the last of those results today and everything came back benign. Thank God!
The recovery has been a bit rough because of the pain management issues, as well as some pretty bad nausea caused by the general anesthesia and the morphine. Tuesday was by far the worst of the days and things have slowly gotten better since then. They actually released me this morning since I could finally get out of bed and walk around, as well as keep some food down. They listened to the baby's heartbeat pretty frequently and everything appears to be just fine on that front too, so we're really thankful. I have a follow-up appt. next week with my Dr. to make sure things are still going well.
Sorry I'm rambling. I just took another Vicodin and I'm about ready to go to sleep again. Thanks so much for all the posts, thoughts, concerns, and prayers. It really meant a lot to me to come on here today and see all the love. You ladies are the best ![]()
