Wow, so I just talked to my uncle
He sounded really good. I can't believe he's already talking. Turns out they just released him early and he's at my parents house. I guess his face is black and blue, but other than that he's fine.
He said his cheek bone hurts the most b/c it feels like his teeth are all pushed to the side, so I'm really not sure what he's doing talking, but I was glad to talk to him.
He said that the train tracks come into an angle where he was. It was trafficky so he was waiting for cars to pass. Looked both ways - no train- and then pulled out slowly waiting for the last car to pass. Guess the train was so far behind him that he didn't see it. It didn't honk until he was already on the tracks - he said he turned his head and it was right there so he slammed the gas so it would hit the trailer and have some give. Guess that's what happened so the most force was on the part where the truck meets the trailer, but the train was so wide that the cab got smashed a little too. The police said the train was speeding, but they aren't really releasing more info at this point. Since everyone is okay I guess it will pretty much just be an insurance thing. Who knows.
He hasn't seen the pictures so he keeps wondering why everyone is so shocked that he's doing so well. Ummm...because you were hit by a train!!
