Any plant people on?

On our househunting visits up your way, a few homes had these cute little plants/flowers around their trees or in their front yards. Don't know if it was a native flower or something popular in MA. It was a blue/purple flower on a low-growing plant, and the petals were skinny. I don't think it was phlox unless it's a particular strain.

Anyone know what I'm talking about? I wish I'd taken a picture.
