Who is hosting Easter... and whatcha havin'?
I'm hosting this year, first time! It is a relatively small crew (10ish) so that helps... but I'm still not sure exactly what's on the menu. So I'd love to see yours!
Here's my plan so far:
Sage and thyme turkey
Ham
Some type of bread (ciabatta or french rolls)
Brown sugar green beans
Garlic mashed potatoes and gravy
But what else? Fruit salad? Another veggie? I know it will be a ton of food, but it doesn't seem like much variety.
We aren't big dessert people but I'll probably put something easy together (pie, cake, etc).

I'm not hosting but this is what my mom is making:
Brown Sugar Spiral HamCheddar Sour Cream and Chives Mashed Potatoes
Green Bean Casserole
Homemade Mac -n- Cheese
Lemon-Infused Angel Hair Pasta with Pine Nuts
Fresh fruits and veggies
Cake
ETA: If you're thinking about serving some kind of roll/bread, try this recipe! My mom makes these all the time and they're amazing!

And I'm making these to bring:

I'm hosting but I have a lot of help.
Nobody wanted an actual ham so I'm making a massive pan(s) of homemade scalloped potatoes and ham.
We're also doing a layer cake to celebrate DH's birthday too.
Other familiy will bring a veggie, bread, salad, and drinks.
This sounds amazing!! "Lemon-Infused Angel Hair Pasta with Pine Nuts" Do you happen to have a recipe?
I'll email my mom and see if she has it!
We actually missed Easter this year with my family (job orientation) and will miss it with H's family (moving). Our families always have way too much food so a slice of ham, scoop of potatoes, spoonful of green beans, and roll doesn't sound like that much.
I think a fruit salad would be nice, especially if you aren't big dessert people. Fruit still gives you something sweet without being overly sweet like a more traditional dessert would.
If you'll have many kids around I'd highly suggest Jell-o eggs. Personally, I enjoy the creamy variation best. (Scroll to the bottom and click on the Valentine's creamy link.)
I'm hosting my little family, unless baby brother arrives, in which case my MIL and FIL will be in town, and may be cooking the following for us.
I planned extras, as it all tastes delicious leftover.
Brown Sugar glazed ham
Roasted baby red potatoes
Green beans
Honeyed Carrots
Jello Eggs
carrot cake cookies, if I get to them, otherwise strawberries with angel food cake
devilled eggs
homemade bread
I'm hosting people at our home, but we are going out for Easter Brunch to The Cottage in Story City.
I've made cinnamon rolls and lemon cookies to have around the house. We will also be having a ham, twice baked potatoes, asparagus, bread, and fruit salad on Saturday evening.
i'm bringing a spinach salad with berries, bacon, hardboiled eggs and poppyseed dressing.
i just made a fruit salad this week that was mixed fruit with a citrus mint dressing. YUM. very refreshing.
