I freeeaking hate when...
People use the phrase, "it must be nice..."
Like "It must be nice to be able to buy a new car" or "it must be nice to take a 3-day weekend"
Ugh, it makes me want to throat punch the person!
Love 9.3.03
Marriage 12.1.07
Baby Carriage 8.3.11
Re: I freeeaking hate when...
Yeah, totally passive aggressive.
You know what I hate? A girl at work says "right on" all the time. WTF? It's grating.
That makes me think of Ula in 50 First Dates, it's funny when he says it...but IRL it would be super annoying.
I'm definitely guilty of saying "it must be nice".... but not to the person. Like if someone tells me their cousin is going on a 7 month trip through Europe, I'd probably say it... or something I hear about celebrities and their mansions.
I don't say it to people, just because it is way easier to say "pleasepleaseplease feel sorry for me and crappy about whatever great thing is happening to you!"
I am, however, guilty of thinking it, especially lately when I realize how many of my IRL friends are having their babies before summer heat really sets in.
That's a good point. It depends on the context. If it's a "joking around w/a friend, I'm jealous of what you're doing thing" I don't mind it.
