So if you remember correctly I had a post about a daycare we had trouble with.

Well apperantely we didn't overreact because this morning that daycare made the news about an incedent that happened before we started there. I knew something didn't feel right about this place. I'm glad we decided not to let M go there.
Re: Wow just wow!
OMG! I saw that last night on the news and couldn't believe something like that would happen there. I'm so glad that you didn't let M go there!
Oh my goodness! So glad you went with your gut feeling!
I lived in the apartments next to that center when I was in law school.
I'm stunned that they could not safely/appropriately handle the little boy. If he was indeed biting or not listening, why not take him to the side and talk to him? There are so many things wrong with this entire case...
Good for you, following your instincts!
I would have expected more as well!
I am SO glad you aren't sending your child to that center, and if I were a parent with a child there, I'd be removing them ASAP.
That being said, it's pretty standard for your child's primary teacher to not be there the entire time your child is, because they typically work 8 hour days, 5 days a week, to avoid paying overtime. If you work at least 8 hour days as well, plus travel and lunch, it stands to reason your child will be at the center at least 9 hours. That has been the case for every daycare I looked into. I don't love it, but I get it.
Also, at the daycare we use, the 'kitchen lady' is also a qualified 'teacher' so if she was the drop-off teacher, then I could live with that, but I'd definitely want to be sure that was the case before leaving my child there and you obviously didn't have the chance to do that without the director there.
I TOTALLY agree!
Nope it isn't wrong at all. When I was at UCO we had to put in so many hours to go towards our degree at the CDC. We also had to log a certain amount at other college CDC's. The UCO CDC was very clear on the expectations, dress, hours, etc. I *think*, don't quote me on it, University/College run CDC's are a little more expensive than traditional CDC's so if you are paying more your expectations should be bigger.
