I've never been to Kimball's...
If anyone is around next week (or the week after) some night, anyone want to meet up for ice cream at the Westford location? I need to check this place out.
Re: I've never been to Kimball's...
Is that a yes then?!
Sure. (Does 92008 - not sure if she's want me to use her real name - want to come?)
I think it's a hike for her-- I'll mention it. I already looked at the menu and picked out what I'm going to have.
I think my version of heaven will have a Kimball's/Richardson's in it.
LadyE, we've mentioned Kimball's and Richardson's a bunch of times on this board! They both have mini golf and amaaaaaazing ice cream. Kimball's also has bumper boats. They're both basically a fun place to spend a sunny afternoon and enjoy a ridiculously indulgent snack.
I'm jealous you're going, mesa, but it's too far for me join you. Report back what you think of it. What are you going to get?
I probably didn't pay attention/it didn't register because I actually don't like ice cream. Weird, huh? If I want to eat something bad for me, I choose Taco Bell over cake or ice cream any day.
OMG, what is wrong with you?!
I know! I had a milk allergy as a baby that morphed into lactose intolerance, which I eventually grew out of. Not having had much milk as a kid, the only milk product I can even bear to drink at all is skim (even in coffee). Ice cream, whipped cream, etc are kind of gross to me because I hate the cream taste.
The one exception is JP Licks oreo ice cream cake.
LadyE, I have the same history as you-- but I eat frozen yogurt and cannot get enough-- I just started eating more dairy in the last few years (regular yogurt, just starting to like cheese). I started liking whipped cream if it's homemade and part of a dessert- not on it's own... but frozen yogurt is my weakness.
And I'll be getting the black raspberry chocolate chip froyo
I scoped out the options last night.
I've never been to either. There is a Richardson's in my neighborhood (ice cream only) but it is across the street from my lover JP Licks so I've never tried it. I've been meaning to though - I always feel bad for Richardson's that the JP Licks line is out the door while there are like 2 ppl in their line.
I've never heard of Westford so I'm guessing it is no where near me, lol.
I JUST found out about Kimball's last summer. I'm at Richardson's girl. B and I made the hike up there three different times only to get hit with massive thunderstorms on 93 each time. Each time we made it there only to find the mini golf, bumper boats and balloon ride closed. We've given up.
We already broke in Richardson's a few times for the season. The golf and batting cages are open. I'm embarassed to admit how often we're there.
We had a dept. outing there in the fall. It was so much better than the stuff they usually make us do, even though it was freezing. They were going to have the hot air balloon available, but it was too windy.
Their country store has delicious fudge, btw. I basically drank beer and ate fudge and ice cream all afternoon.
That's ridiculously bad luck! But if you've been to Richardson's then it's very similar. I kinda think of the two interchangeably.
Sounds like a good company outing to me!It was awesome. Though you weren't supposed to take the beer outside of the picnic area, so we kept pouring it into soda cups. Our boss stopped my coworker and me over on the driving range at one point and said, "what are you drinking?" And my coworker yelled, "umm...Diet Pepsi?" Which, you know, didn't give anything away, between the pause, the volume, and the question.
(You may have had to have been there. Sorry, not a very good story in retrospect.)
