Can I reserve some T&Ps for Monday?

On Monday morning, I'm getting my wisdom teeth out. It's kind of a big deal because two of them are partially in my jawbone. I have to be sedated, and I'm nervous. If I could get some T&Ps that my procedure goes well and I recover quickly, I would really appreciate it.

  • Hoping for a speedy recovery for you -- getting your wisdom teeth out is no party.

If it makes you feel any better, all 4 of mine were impacted in my jawbone.  I had to be put out completely, and they had to cut into my gums to yank the teeth out.  I was just 15 when I had it done but recovery wasn't bad at all, I just ate soft foods for a few days. Beware of drool though -- use old pillowcases, I drooled like a St. Bernard in my sleep.

Same here. And my top two were forcing themselves into my sinus cavities. NOT FUN. Ditto on the drool.

Hope you have a speedy recovery Meghan!

Ditto for me!  I had a good recovery and didn't need the vicodin and was able to stick to advil.  Best wishes for a great outcomeSmile

  • Thanks for the heads' up on the drool! DH bought me applesauce and pudding at the grocery store, and I'm trying to eat lots of crunchy things and things with small pieces (like rice) while I still can!

    Thanks for the T&Ps!

  • T & P's for a speedy recovery!

Hope you enjoy all your soft, liquid food!

    Some pointers:

Wrap icepacks around your face with gauze.

Don't watch cooking or restaurant review shows.  It is torturous.

  • Good luck!! I had to be put out and my jawbone actually sawed open. Recovery was a breeze. About 2 weeks of soft foods though (I'm a paranoid, what can I say?).

    And some more advice:

No straws and also do a warm saltwater rinse after you eat (or if they give you the syringe, even better), but don't spit, just let it dribble out. Feels nasty, but like stees said, dry socket's a biitch.
