I'm looking for something that teaches me how to get the most out of a dSLR and photograph still life, people and landscapes/travel.
I'll take specific recs but I really need to know what to look for in a class description that will signal a good class. I don't want to learn about how to use a flash or a memory card or develop from film. I need to know about exposure, aperature, low-light conditions, shutter speeds, etc. and how to make the right decisions on camera settings based on the environment and subject at any given time. Great, I know what I want, but the class descriptions don't tell me these things.
Some of the classes at AACC are online--anyone take an online photography course? Was it worthwhile or would you rather just go in person?
Re: Anyone take a local photography class?
community colleges offer great classes for that
"Intro to DSLR" or something and was around $80. The class focused on how to use your DSLR camera. It was very helpful!
