wedding attire questions

Hi everyone. Is it necessary for men to wear suit jackets to weddings in this day and age or can they get buy with just a tie?

Re: wedding attire questions

  • Good question. I always make my DH wear a jacket, but I've seen plenty of men at weddings just wear a shirt and tie in my circle.
  • It depends on the type of wedding. We have been to summer weddings during the day and he doesn't wear a suit. But if it's a nighttime wedding he will
  • I kinda of judge by venue/time of day.  If it's a daytime ceremony (11 am- 3pm) outdoors, then JEGs will usually wear just a shirt and tie.  If it's an evening wedding, suit jacket is a must.  Worst comes to worst, if he's the only one with a jacket on, he can just take it off ;)

If I'm not familiar with the venue, I check it out on-line first and kind of judge from there.
