A few weeks ago during the Summer post, you said you were looking forward to both drinking (woo hoo) and using your blackberries...and ever since I've been looking for a recipe that I ripped out of Martha Stewart Weddings back in the day.
To help you obtain your summertime goals:
12 oz. blackberries, plus more for garnish
2 tbsp superfine sugar
3 tbsp fresh lime juice
6 oz. gin
15 mint leaves, torn, plus sprigs for garnish
1.5 cups seltzer
1. Puree berries and sugar in a food processor. Strain, and discard seeds.
2. Put 1/3 cup puree, 1 tbsp lime juice, 2 oz. gin, and 1/3 of the torn mint leaves into a cocktail shaker filled with ice, and shake until cold. Pour into two 8-ounce glasses, and 1/4 cup seltzer to each. Repeat twice. Garnish with berries and mint sprigs.
