Anyone planning on going? If so, where are you planning to watch the launch from?
Re: Shuttle Launch
I'll be there of course.
If you're coming all the way down to Brevard county, the best views are from US 1 in Titusville along the river. Expect it to be very crowded. You might have to park further away and then walk to the river. Bring chairs, sunscreen and snacks! When leaving, I would probably suggest driving north for a little bit before heading back over to 95. Going west directly from Titusville can be very backed up.
Here's a list of some parks you can go to. http://www.nasa.gov/centers/kennedy/about/view/view_shuttle.html Since you'd be coming from north, I wouldn't recommend port canaveral or cocoa beach. Of course, on launch day, people don't just go to parks, they pull over anywhere there's a spot on the side of the road.
If you're not coming this far south, then this info doesn't really help. Have fun! I really hope it goes on Friday.

My parents are in town this week, and I swear when I told my mom about the launch on Friday she peed her pants, lol! I really hope it doesn't get delayed, she'd be devastated. Plus I'm taking a half day Friday just to go see the launch!
oh yeah, my recommendation was based totally on the assumption that you would be driving down and back in one day. It didn't seem worth it to drive the extra distance to cocoa beach. But if you've got a hotel, then go for it. The view from Titusville is still a little bit better, just because you're closer, but Cocoa Beach is definitely not a bad option.
You could watch from the beach, of course. Also, the 528 and 520 causeways where they cross the river are both good spots.
