I feel like I've been up for hours. I woke up at 6 to get time in to exercise and make my lunch and accommodate a morning shower (I'm a night shower-er) and then had to drop my car off to get its 90k service, replacement recalled part and inspection. The shuttle wasn't working, so I had to call H and have him come get me. So now I'm finally at work and wading through a few days of emails (apparently Easter isn't a big holiday in India).
On the plus side, I am ridiculously alert and ready to get going. And yesterday wasn't SO awful. That was probably helped by the fact that I was wastedface all day. And my cousin got to bring his 18 month old kid who I've never met. That child was ridiculously adorable. Looks EXACTLY like my cousin did when he was little. He was afraid of everyone, except H. So of course, mother and gma started in about children and I was drunk enough to let them know not to hold their breath.
Tonight, H and I have soccer (at 9:30) and I really want to go to the mall and buy a new work outfit for my big client meeting tomorrow. I always feel more confident when I'm wearing a new outfit. and a bunch of my uncles/cousins gave me random amounts of cash for my birthday (it's custom in my family to pretty much hand out $20's to birthday people) so maybe I can buy new shoes, too! My black pumps are getting pretty sad. And black pumps are so sensible and easily justifiable.
Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all had a good weekend.
Re: Just Another Manic Monday
had a great, relaxing yet busy, dysfunctional yet calm weekend. a mix of family, traditions, relaxing with gerren, running, etc.
i got new running shoes. and i ran the farthest AND quickest i have run to date. felt really good, but man, did it wipe me out! and that was only 4.3 miles! yeesh.
quick week for me today, gerren and i took friday off (and next monday) to get away for the weekend. we are going to texas (dallas) to visit our dear friend who hosts a crawfish boil for 300 people. no joke, 500 POUNDS of crawfish, 6 kegs, food, margaritas, etc. like a giant block party. we are so excited
and it's going to be warm and sunny and we can also go out on the boat and relax. i just cannot wait

I had a four day weekend - it was fantastic. Although I came back to several "issues" at work that apparently NO ONE else could deal with. But shortly after I got into work, I got an email from my boss. She went home for the holiday, and because of weather and her being a nervous flyer, she will NOT be in to work today! So fantastic.
I need about 2-3 hours of solid work to finish up my wedding highlights. It's so close to being done. I was half asleep on Saturday night when I got a burst of inspiration - and of course, was too exhausted to actually get any work done. I hope to have it done by next weekend, and then I'll need some constructive criticism since I'll be using it to get work. I know I can count on you all to be honest!
Whew! This weekend was busy but nothing much seemed to really happen. I finally went to the Couch outlet that opened near me - there's been a line to get in, but as we were walking by there were only a few people and they were just opening the rope so we walked right in. I got a wristlet and a small black bag - two things I'd actually been needing for when we go out to restaurants and such. I was drooling over a couple of larger bags but I behaved myself. Most of the stuff there, though, was really NMS. I guess that's why it's at the outlet.
We did a massive amount of cleaning this weekend, which was completely necessary. And I swapped all my winter clothes for spring/summer clothes and organized my shoes/handbags, so my closet is looking pretty spiffy. This Saturday we're going to NJ for my IL's anniversary dinner - we're actually driving there in the morning, and back that same night. The next day we're going out on a charter boat in the afternoon with friends, and one of them is staying with us that night, so the house really needs to be cleaned by Friday. In other news, since I started working out and eating better two weeks ago, I have lost 2.4 lbs. Gotta fit in these summer clothes!
Boo to Mondays. DH gets up at 3, so I'm awake at 3. Hate.It.
Easter was pretty good. There was a power outage, stuffed salmon, heavy snow, King's Speech twice, and 8 different pints of ice cream for dessert. Not a bad way to spend the day/evening. FIL had to get to airport, so the drive from Evergreen to DIA was hell on Earth since he was driving crazy fast in the snow. Had to play w/ my iPod to not focus on rear ending the car in front of us. Unfortunately it made me car sick. Tried not to vomit the entire 2.5 hrs I was in the car.
DH's gma was in town and she apologized for the whole diamond incident w/ DH's cousin. Apparently cousin's mom (DH's aunt) called gma and ASKED for a diamond, there was no impromtu gifting. When gma saw the "story" on cousin's wedding website, she was mortified and apologized to DH and MIL in person yesterday. Guess we still have to go the wedding then
Shauni-jealous of your new kicks. Decided I'm def doing the triathlon this year and need new shoes. Don't wanna spend the $$
Hope everybody had a good weekend!!
Saturday we went shopping, watched a college scrimage game, went for a bike ride and then bbq'd with my parents.
Sunday E went with her dad for a couple hours in the morning while I cleaned my hiney off since I refuse to do anything during the week. In the afternoon we loaded up E and went out to my parents for another bbq with their neighbors my grandparents and aunt. Successful weekend.
Monday back to work but we are in the 50s and 60s all week so it's gonna be a good week.
Monday. Of all the Mondays in the world, this is actually not a horrible one.
I am subbing today in a class I enjoy. The weather is sucky, so I don't feel bad about not being home to do some springy cleaning/outdoor work and we had a good day yesterday so I am not doing too bad overall.
Easter held at our house was good. Everyone showed up, the weather was amazing so we played games and all seemed to have a blast. Even though SIL and her Fi (and baby) left before we ate... not sure really why, everyone was suprised by thier announcement, but whatever. Food was good... We have tons of leftovers in the fridge. There is still a little cleanup to do when I get home, but nothing major really. Successful overall.
I need to call the vet today to schedule the dogs for their spring stuff (flea/heartworm tests and meds)... and there is a ton more on the to-do list, but for once, my mind doesn't feel ADHD about getting stuff done. So glad for a fun day!
yup, $100. pricey. the downfall of running, etc, is that if you are a serious runner who is running 30-40 miles a week, you really need to have good sneakers ALL.THE.TIME. which means like 4 pairs of $100 sneaks a year. which i am not used to. i usually buy 1 pair of $100 sneakers every 2 years...

Hope everyone had a nice Easter weekend!
Saturday I went to get my dress measured. I wanted to go ASAP because I know it's prom season and I predicted my tailor would be swamped. I was right, but she said she would have it ready for this coming Saturday, a week before the event. I can live with that, especially because I am confident in her work now that she did my wedding dress. When I got back H and I went out to lunch at this Italian place by our house we've been wanting to go back to. Afterwards, we went grocery shopping and I bought all the ingredients to make my hot crab dip appetizer to bring for Easter dinner. I then went to Crate & Barrel and ran some other errands by myself.
Sunday I got up, made breakfast, made my crab dip, worked out, jumped in the shower and got dressed then it was time to head to my aunt's house for Easter dinner with the family. It was nice to see everyone; tons of food! My sister was there and seemed unsettled about the direction her life is heading in right now but she and I had a nice talk and I know it's important for her just to know that I'll always be there for her. H got upset that his NY Rangers and Knicks got eliminated from the playoffs and my family didn't help by teasing him about the Celtics knocking the Knicks off all night. My aunt who I have not seen in 7 years also showed up just as the rest of us were finishing dinner which was interesting and a little awkward but I was happy to see her. I told H I was pretty sure I had a few grey hairs after going to dinner!
I had a great weekend! It seemed long, I got some perennials and some annuals planted, I did a lot of laundry, spent time with family and friends, and read a lot.
However, my MIL is a passive aggressive b&tch and I will continue along whistling dixie and not engaging in her BS. THE END.
Three day week for me this week. RWP looms large!
When exactly is your party? Are you guys going to watch it live? I'm recently obsessed w/ the Royals and TLC is only encouraging it. Also debating taking Friday off to watch wedding live. Am I cray-crazy?
I don't mind the investment, just a PITA. Got fitted a few years ago, then when that pair wore out, bought the same pair online (eBay) for cheaper. Turns out, they gave me blisters IN BETWEEN my toes (need a bigger toe box). Ouch. Need to get fitted again and pay full price
I know. Our company has been producing several royal wedding specials for TLC. I'm not involved, but all I've seen around the office are clips of Diana's wedding, and footage of the royal guards and so on. They were under a LOT of pressure to get that stuff edited in a very small window.
Back to work today. I have a four day weekend and being back here is no good. This post will be kind of long because I want to tell yall what I did for my birthday weekend. Be prepared...
Thursday which was actually b-day I went to breakfast with H and bestie at this historic cafe place. Best breakfast ever! Then went home and did laundry and got showered and went to dinner with mom, dad,(divorced) & brother. Was nice it hasn't been the four of us in a long time.
Friday, went and got my hair done at 10 in the morning and then came home and relaxed and packed my bag to stay in the hotel that night. Headed to down town Austin around 3:30 and checked into the hotel and relaxed then started to get ready for my birthday boat ride!! It was so nice the boat was totally private for just our party and they had tons of food (fajitas) and music from my ipod. It was my family and family friends and a couple of my close friends. Then after the boat ride we went to the hotel bar and had some drinks. Then all me and H had to do was go upstairs to the room. We got breakfast room service the next morning, it was so good. The room was amazing, he upgraded us to a "pure room" which is basically hypo allergenic room for free.
Saturday I did nothing but recover from the night before and finally got an album for wedding pics and put them in order in it. And we went out to dinner, I got another piece of free cake because when I get a drink they ID me obviously and then see it's close to my birthday. Love free massive pieces of cake! Easter Sunday me and H drove to my grandmas house (1.5 hours away) and did all the usual. This year we had 79 people there (last year we had 88)!
Hola everyone! sounds like everyone had an awesome weekend.
I've been trying to stalk the board when I can. Haven't had much time to post. I just cant catch up to my work.
I did take a few days off this weekend though. First time I've done that in months. I didn't even open my computer to check email. It was awesome. I did peek a little on my phone though...
Had a blast of a weekend. The highlight - at 35 years old, being offered a job as a stripper. I don't even care that it was at a seedy strip joint. In West Virginia.
TTC since 2010
Me: 36, slightly elevated FSH. Everything else (hysterescopy, HSG, b/w) normal.
DH:30, with super sperm? >200mil post wash
BFP #1 - May 2011 - m/c @ 8weeks
IUI #1 - July 26 2012 - Femara = BFN
Suprise BFP Jan 15 2013. Hope this one sticks!
yes another mm indeed. It was nice having James home both weekend days, we were planning on going for a hike with the dog yesterday but there were report of sprinkles and possible rain and it was overcast and cloudy so we nixed that idea. I took the dog on a short walk later and lo & behold it was sunny.
We actually got to see our nephews (H's side) last night, we haven't seen them since late August - but it was late in the evening since the IL's didn't get home until late. Right before MIL called, he and I had a little fight (which it was more or less my fault for picking) we're good now but I ended up going to sleep 30-45 minutes later than I had wanted and cried a little out of frustration so hello puffy eyes.
Shauni - $100 isn't bad for a pair of shoes, I have spent $135 on a pair but now try to go $100 route. Really cheap running shoes are not worth the risk of injury. Runningwarehouse.com actually has good prices on shoes and apparel and free 2-day shipping. (just in case you don't know about that website).
IUI #1 10/12/11 (Bravelle + HCG + Prometrium & acupuncture) = 10/26 BFP! Beta #1=250, Beta #2= 615. 1st u/s 11/8.
Ahhh, happy Monday! We had a nice, relaxing weekend. More purging of the house to get ready for baby and yard sale Saturday, and yesterday really just couching it all day because of all day nausea. Fun! We're watching my parents' dog for the weekend, and it's always fun to take him for walks with our dog, because he pretends to want to sniff at bushes when he gets tired.
My sister is still being a royal beyotch, and I haven't even said anything to her about the crib. H says she must have known that we deemed her the lesser of the crazies as between her and SIL, and is now rallying for the lead. This weekend she was trying to get out of going on this 3-hour (SF) Bay sailing trip that we bought for my dad, when the whole thing was her idea. And if I am willing to plan to do this at a time when I'm nauseated 80% of the time, surely her lazy ass can participate. She's claiming to be too busy, but although we're looking at summer dates, the Groupon we bought for it doesn't expire until December, although I imagine I'll have something else going on by then.
Overall our weekend was pretty good.
Friday night/Saturday morning it snowed. Wet, heavy, slushy snow, around 5 inches and I was woke up by the plow around 5:30 Saturday morning. Thankfully it reached 60 degrees yesterday and all of the snow melted, leaving our driveway one big mud puddle though.
Saturday DH and I went shopping, had pancakes for dinner with my parents, and hung out at home. Sunday DH worked most of the day, but we managed to have lunch with his parents and then I visited with my parents again last night and went for a 3.5 mile walk with my mom.
Our living room is almost completely finished and the desk just needs a bit more work. I was sick most of the week (headache and stomach issues) which led to not getting much done. I also think I need to start following a strict gluten free diet to fix the stomach issues.
Hello and goodbye to the weekend. I swear it seems that as we get older our weekends get shorter.
I had a nice weekend. We BBQ'd yesterday and it was small but nice. We hid eggs for my two younger cousins. Richard wanted to hide them on the roof, but we had to stop him...lol. All in all, it was a nice weekend.
I'm late to this but today has been crazy (much like my weekend). Last Thursday I broke down and went to the doctor to get rid of this crud. Turns out I have/had a severe inner ear infection in both ears. Lovely. On a z-pack to get this crud knocked out. We did Easter at my parents and had some drama with the sisters (what's new?) but nothing major.
This morning, I came to work, had a meeting, then left to see one of Jeremy's friends (a GM in the wedding) leave for Afghanistan. That was freakin' emotional and I have a new found respect for everyone who has to go through that.
I'm off to do a couple a therapies and calling it a day.
