T & P Please

Ladies, I'm sure most of you have seen and/or heard about the terrible tornadoes that tore through St Louis Friday night. I saw some of the severe damage this morning on my way into work.  It was just heart breaking seeing homes with so much damage or even completely gone. Now they are saying that a major roadway in our area could have structural damage from the storms too. We are supposed to get more storms today thru Wednesday.

Could you please say a few extra prayers for these people?  They have nothing left of their homes (and sometimes even neighborhoods) and have to basically start their lives over from scratch again. I am still somewhat in shock that we didn't get any of it since it was so close.  I just can't even fathom what they are going thru right now.

Anniversary

Re: T & P Please

  • Many prayers are sent. I heard from my parent's neighbor that the neighborhood she grew up in is pretty much gone. It is so sad. I can't even imagine the emotions that those individuals are facing.

  • Tons of thoughts and prayers!!
  • A town about 15 minutes north of me is going through the same thing.  It's heartbreaking.  I'm glad you and Greg are safe! I'll say some extra prayers for your area!

  • How devastating, I am so glad that you guys were untouched! LOTS of thoughts and prayers for the people who lost their homes, and prayers that the next storm is mild.

  • It is very sad seeing all that damage.  The damage at the airport is aweful.  I believe there were no deaths from these storms, only some injuries.  MH was out in the hail trying to put a cover over our car this past Friday night and out of nowhere we had extreme winds blowing the rain in every direction.  I was trying to get him to just come inside because I was scared.  I tried helping him with the cover at first, but when it got really bad he made me stay in the garage.  We don't have warning sirens here either.  We are definitely ready for the rain to be over with.  Our yard is a pond and the french drain we have to help with the water runoff has been overflowing and running non-stop.

I'm in the Fenton area (where one of the New Years Eve tornadoes hit) and there is still signs of damage that hasn't yet been repaired.

  • I have definitely been thinking about all affected by the tornadoes a lot. It is so devastating and widespread and I can't imagine what they're all going through.
  • Sheri, you were luck enough to be in between the 2 storms this time.  I'm sure the NYE storms were enough for you guys.  I know Greg went out to smoke around 8ish and it was super super quiet out then (that's the worst).  He came in, told me to put shoes on and we went in the bathroom.  Luckily we never lost power...thank goodness for underground power.

It was super quiet by us this weekend with the airport closed (we can usually hear planes taking off), which was kind of weird.

  • Sending many thoughts and prayers to the families that lost their homes!  Though I'm glad that homes, and not lives, were lost!

  • So glad you, and your home, are unharmed!!  Tons of T&P's to those people - I can't think of many things more horrible than losing your entire home like that.
