Good morning!

V and I have a day off today - yay!! I actually just found out on Thursday afternoon that the university is closed today, so it's kind of like a free day off. The best kind!

Easter weekend was wonderful but exhausting. The Easter Vigil mass on Saturday night was especially stressful this year because it was our new music director's first time so I had to be even more on the ball than usual, but it all turned out beautifully.

We got a lot done around the house too and we'll be running a few more errands today. Among them, I'm going to go to the Portuguese consulate and register my marriage in Lisbon, lol. (My dad was born in Macau so I have Portuguese citizenship. I figure that a Portuguese passport would be a useful thing to get.)

rxbeth - congrats again on the Baptism, Communion & Confirmation!!

How were your weekends, ladies?

Re: Good morning!

  • Good morning! We had a great weekend away for the wedding. The wedding itself was great. They had great food and we had a blast dancing and catching up with friends.

This week I have another 4 day work week as I took Friday off. Until Friday I don't think I have much exciting going on.

  • Good morning!  It's a boss-free week here at our office, so everyone should be in good spirits and we should get a lot of work done.  Other than that, nothing much is going on here.

My first cousin once removed send me his Flat Stanley (which we are calling Flat Colin since that's his name) so I get to take him around town and take pictures with him and then send him, the pictures and a note back to Colin's elementary school.  So fun!

  • Good Morning!

Rxbeth - Also another congrats on your baptism, communion, and confirmation.

My weekend was pretty low key for the most part.  Saturday I ran some errands, then home cleaning the house. BIL & SIL came over for a visit and gave the boys a new toy, which they love.

Sunday, we went to church and then to MIL for lunch. It was great to be with the family, and we talked more about our family trip to Disney over Thanksgiving.

    Have a great day ladies!

  • It was a great weekend. We bought DH a new car this weekend. He is so happy. Then we went to a beautiful wedding. Sunday we hung out with my family for Easter. It was a great weekend.

  • Good Morning.

We had a fairly low key weekend. We really need to stop doing that and start getting things done around the house! Although, I really can't do much since we are going to find out the gender we can't do anything with the nursery for 4 more weeks (form today, YAY)

Friday night-We had dinner with some friends. Saturday was the IL family Easter celebration, which was a lot of fun.

Sunday was a very low key day of watching baseball, movies and not really moving from the couch much. I wish we would have had motivation to get stuff done but sometimes you just need those days.

    Have a great week ladies!

  • Hi ladies.  I can't believe it's already Monday.  The weekend flew by.  Friday evening, B and I did some stuff around the house and then took it easy.  Thursday was kinda a late night with both the Bulls and Hawks playing, and us meeting friends to watch the games.  Saturday, we took the dogs (our and my parents'--we're dog sitting) for a long walk around the neighborhood.  We then did massive amounts of laundry, packed our suitcases for our trip, and got our itinerary in order.  Sunday, we embarked on making a massive playlist for the driving portion of our trip and then watched the Hawks win in OT.  Only three and a half days of work this week.  I can't wait!

  • Morning all!

We're off again today, and it's great.  Derek only just rolled outta bed.

The plan for today is a lot of work around the house and maybe a few errands.  Derek's Blackberry has been acting up, so we might take a trip into the mall to get someone to look at it.  I need to finish painting stripes in the guestroom, as we've got someone moving into it on Thursday!

    Have a great day everyone!

  • Good morning, ladies.

Yesterday started out very poorly, since our refrigerator died Saturday night and we needed to get a new one ASAP.  Fortunately, CraigsList is awesome, and not only did we get a new one (same model, 6 years newer), but the seller delivered it and helped us get the old one out of the house.  Then, the guy we called (from CraigsList) to haul the old one away actually wanted to pay us $12.  We declined, and happily sent him off with the old, nonworking unit.  Score!  And I still had enough time to cook a nice Easter dinner.

    Have a great day everyone!

  • Good morning!

I can't believe the weekend is over. We had a very low key weekend overall. Saturday I just did some cleaning and homework. Yesterday we had our family over for Easter and had a BBQ. This week at least I have a short week since I will be traveling Thursday morning to he "concrete conoe competition" in College Station.

  • Hello ladies!  Speaking of Portugal, we just got back from a great long weekend in Lisbon.  Even though the weather wasn't the best, I loved the city and I would definitely go back sometime.

Now to be a bit productive around the flat before heading back to work tomorrow.  On the plus side, it's just a 3-day work-week thanks to Wills and Kate and the big Royal Wedding on Friday!

  • Good morning!

We had a wonderful weekend. Jordan's tball game was cancled saturday so Me, Eli and the kids did a little shopping and had lunch at red lobster. Eli had to work Saturday night so after he left for work and I got Preston to bed me and Jordan dyed easter eggs. We decided to have a movie night and watched The Wizard of Oz and Yogi bear. It was fun to lay on the couch and watch tv with Jordan.

Sunday after Eli came home the easter bunny came and left lots of goodies. After all of the excitment me and the kids ran to walmart to get some last minute grocery items for the upcoming week while Eli took a nap. We had a wonderful lunch at my grandmothers and all of the kids hunted Easer eggs. Preston had not been feeling great all weekend and he seemed to get much worse sunday so I decided to take him on to the doctor. I love that his doctor is open on weekends. He just has a cold and of course another ear infection. His doctor gave him 3 prescriptions and he felt much better this morning.

Sorry that got long. Guess we had a busy weekend.

  • Good morning!

The weekend went by way to fast. Saturday I cleaned the house, did laundry, and went grocery shopping. Sunday we had brunch with Jason's family then we had dinner with my family. We had a great time but didn't get home until 10:30 last night, so I'm exhausted this morning.

  • Today sucks, and so did this weekend. I'm pretty sure God or whoever is laughing at the shiitshow that is my life.

At least my brother's getting married this weekend.

  • We apparently lounged around a little too much this weekend, because both DH and I had sore necks. Our couches aren't nearly as comfortable as we thought. Note to self for the next living room set...make sure they're 24 hour sit-down compatible.

Friday night we hung out with friends and called it an early night. Saturday I managed to read a book cover to cover (The Carrie Diaries..super cute) and got a ton of cleaning done. The fur has been taking over our house. I need one warm weekend to bathe the dogs outside. Our tub drain would have a meltdown if we did it inside. Sunday was more lounging with some movie time. Tonight is White Sox v. Yankees, so i'll be making virgin margaritas and watching the game with the hubs. There will be lots of trash talking and yelling in our living room.

  • My vacation is over and I am back to school today!  With today over, there are 38 more student days (43 teacher days) until summer (not that I'm counting...)!

My weekend was fine...I went to see my best friend Friday and we went out for dinner and to see Water for Elephants, which was good!  Then we rid her barn of birds' nests and measured everything on Saturday (in the sleet...really...in freakin' April).

Easter I ate almost a whole bag of jelly beans, we bought a bench for my entryway (that we can store our shoes in!) and we went and saw Hanna.

  • Thanks for the congrats, ladies.  I might make a post about it later.

This weekend was excellent.  Friday night we went to go see Scream 4.  It was awful but I was pretty much expecting that.

Saturday I did a new workout during the day and now I am SO sore.  Made DH dinner and then we went to church for Easter Vigil.

Sunday was a 10 mile run, dinner at the ILs for Easter/MILs birthday and then to the movies to see African Cats.  It had much more sad moments than I thought there would be.

Today was an okay day at work, but now I'm on call and we're going to our friends house in a few minutes to watch some 3rd season Breaking Bad.
