So last week I posted about my allergies. I'm still freaking miserable. I've been eating the local honey for about a month. I use a sinus rinse. I've been using Allegra, and Zyrtec they last me a few hours but not the 24 hrs they claim. By the evening my eyes are a raging ball of scratchy fire. I mean they are swelling so bad I have to take my contacts out and I can't shut eyes. We had to leave Easter early b/c I was so bad today. The only thing that brings me some relief is taking 2 Benadryl and then I am so drugged I can barely function. I've had it and think I should go see an allergist.
I have an appointment with my primary Dr. in 3 weeks for something unrelated. He is the one that prescribed me the Allegra (before it went over the counter). Would you wait for that Dr's appointment and ask him what he thinks I should do next? Call tomorrow and see if you can t your appointment moved up? Or just find an allergist on your own and get an appointment ASAP? I do not need a referral for my insurance.
Re: WWMAY08D?
I would call and see if your doctor can give you a recommendation for an allergist ASAP. If they don't have one, just call and make an appointment. When its that bad there's not much the doctor can do to help without knowing specifically what you're allergic to.
I'm going to an allergist the second I move. I would do it now, but its free on FI's insurance.
Allergy testing pollens and what not varies by region. You want to wait to get it when you are living where you are going to be living. It won't matter any more if you are allergic to Florida pollen and not MN pollens.
So I just called the allergy center associated with my hospital. They can't get me in until May 20th. Funny thing though I'm giving the receptionist my info she says "D, its Debbie". Um I know a million Debbie's. Then she tells me her last name she is either distantly related to my H or just close family friends. I swear H's family/friends are everywhere!!! I'm surprised I didnt see her yesterday.
She did tell me to get Zatador eye drops for the mean time. They were prescription but know are available over the counter.
