    I thought about making Caribbean/South American food for theme purposes, but I too was wondering what everyone was thinking.

    I like a theme idea so all the food will work together.

    I don't know if I have any caribbean recipes though...might need help with ideas.

    Okay, we totally don't have to do it, but here are some ideas - Black Beans and Rice, Tostones, Yucca, Spicy Shredded Beef, Guacamole/Mango Salsa with Tortilla chips, Empanadas, Queso Fundido, Slaw Salad, Guava Cheesecake, Tres Leches Cake

    It would be more of a substantial meal than the normal appetizer/finger food type stuff we do.

    If I get the book read in time, i could bring my polynesian meatballs (brown sugar glaze, pineapples, and green pepper). Not quite caribbean, but maybe close enough? lol

    Were you able to get a copy? Even if you don't finish it, you should still come! You'll want to finish it anyway I'm sure, and it's not really spoil-able, ya know?

    I'm going to borrow one tomorrow, so hopefully I'll be able to get it finished. Good point about nothing being spoiled. I'll most likely come, then! Yay!

    I would like to attend and I am actually reading this book, however, I don't know if DH is willing to skip basketball since he has not played the past two weeks on Mondays due to Passover.  I might be limited to online discussion :(

    This food theme is wonderful and terrifying at the same time. Wonderful because I'm sure what everyone else makes will be yummy. Terrifying because this is way out of my comfort zone of spinach dip, LOL!

    I'll be there.

    I have no idea if this fits the bill, but I'd like to bring a black bean/corn salsa with chips because I know I'll like it.  :)

    I'm not a big fan of fruit other than just plain personally.  And apple pie.
