What's everyone doing?? Special Easter celebrations or traditions?
Re: Happy Easter Weekend!
Abby is going to DC today while I sew.
Tomorrow we have the Great Cloth Diaper change and not much tomorrow night.
Sunday we're celebrating Easter with a hunt in the morning at the house, 9am service, and then dinner at my Aunt's in Falmouth.
Pretty low key weekend....
We are going to color a few eggs tomorrow that won't be hidden I have plastic ones for that. Rick has to work on Sunday so the EB won't come till after Nap Time on Sunday so that Daddy can be here too.
Sunday is my brithday too so I think my parents are coming up for that and to give josh his easter basket
I'm working this morning and taking the afternoon off to run errands, work out, and get ready for my parents' visit. Tonight I'll pick my parents up at the airport and then it's back to our house for dinner. Tomorrow - visiting with my parents and aunt and uncle. Taking my mom to my massage therapist for her to get a massage. Sunday - Easter dinner at my aunt's, more visiting with my parents, then dropping them off at the airport and watching Upstairs Downstairs. Happy Easter to everyone celebrating!
I keep forgetting Easter is this weekend
I am just more excited for Saturday at this point!
Today-Getting through work
then meeting some friends for dinner.
Tomorrow- Getting together with my closest girlfriends down in Portland. Going out to dinner then going to see Cake at the State Theater(this starts my 3 months of going to a concert each month!) then probably out drinking. Woo hoo! It's been too long since I've had a girls night.
Sunday-We are having Easter dinner at my aunt and uncles and also celebrating DH's bday, a little late. Should be a nice day!
Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter weekend!!
Tonight...a whole lot of nothing! I'm excited for that.
Tomorrow...I'm going to work a full day of overtime then hoping to bring home some chinese...we'll see if hubby goes for that.
Sunday...relaxing. I didnt do easter for T this year...I think she is too young to understand so I'll do something next year.
Today is the last day of vacation week so DD and I are meeting MIL for lunch (she works in a school, so she had the week off). I'm also going to do a little shopping beforehand.
I hard boiled a dozen eggs yesterday. I'm undecided if we should color them tonight or tomorrow.
Saturday morning Helen is going to Lowe's Build and Grow to build a window birdhouse with daddy. I don't think we have any plans for Saturday evening.
Sunday we'll get up early, let Helen gorge on candy, and then go to church. My ILs are going to be coming over sometime in the afternoon because they have to bring Helen another Easter basket. (spoiled much?) They said they're not coming for dinner, which is good because I was planning to serve leftover ham I have in the freezer and I only have 2 or 3 servings. On the other hand, it seems weird for them to come over in the afternoon and not stay for dinner. Maybe I should go and get a new ham just in case...
It's been vacation week for me so Friday is just another day in paradise (with the possibility of a FIRST haircut this afternoon!)
Mike's working on the house on Sat while I have the diaper change and a b-day party for one of MJs buds.
Sunday we are thinking about doing the sunrise hike on bradbury (they have a non-denominational mass at the top) and then we are doing official easter mass with my parents so they can show him off to all their church friends (and his super cute easter outfit a la carters of course!)
Happy Easter Everyone!!
Tonight- meeting a friend for dinner and then starting my registry
Tomorrow- bodypump in the AM, then meeting a friend to look at some things at Magic Beans and will probably head to my parents house to spend the night.
Sunday- Not much... since it's Easter and I don't think there is much to do for us Jews (I can never remember if places are closed)... hopefully the weather will be decent and I'll take Simon down to run on the beach.
Happy Early Birthday!!
Friday: Work, then home for a walk with my stinky puppy (who is getting grey hair so I guess I shouldn't call him a puppy anymore!
) , dinner and catching up on the Thursday night NBC shows with DH.
Saturday: Cleaning the house, especially the guest room and guest bathroom in preparation for my parent's who are visiting next weekend. Probably some weekly menu planning, cooking/baking, nothing too exciting. I think it's supposed to be rainy and cold tomorrow. DH has some work he needs to get done tomorrow for a freelance client so will probably be spending most of the day working.
Sunday: DH and I don't have any Easter plans, we're not religious so won't be doing church or anything like that. Since my parents live far away and his parents are working this weekend (both are in medical field), and we don't have any other family here we don't have any other place to go for dinner or anything. We'll probably just spend the day hiking/walking somewhere and doing some yard work. I need to start getting my veggie garden ready!
Today: Work is letting us duck out a little early, so I'll pick up James and maybe we'll burn some energy running around the backyard if it's warm enough. Then we'll do burgers inside in the cast iron pan since we are apparently out of propane for the grill.
Tomorrow: We're trying out the really cheap barber lady down the street- $4 haircuts!- for James at 11:30. Otherwise, I need to get my new-to-me sparkly gold bra & belt combo fitted for a bellydance gig next Friday, will go grocery shopping, and need to see about exhanging a pair of pants I got for James at Old Navy yesterday because I totally bought the wrong size like a doofus. Maybe we'll watch some Mad Men on DVD tomorrow night.
Sunday: Down to MA for Easter at my parents. We didn't bother with anything at all last year, and we're only doing something this year because my family wants to see James. I'm hoping to be on the road by 9:30 to get there by 11 so we can do an egg hunt at their place (plastic eggs filled with treats like dried fruit, Cheerios, Goldfish, pretzels, and maybe a tiny bit of chocolate!), get the gifts my family likes to spoil him with, eat, and hopefully be heading home around 4ish. We'll see how that all works with his nap schedule though!
I'm really excited that I had an excuse to get some new stuff for a cute outfit. He has some tan casual pants already, they I got a hat, pink & navy polo shirt, and navy boat shoes at Old Navy yesterday. He LOVES hats and is going to be so stylin! (I on the other hand returned that green & cream dress becuase I couldn't justify keeping it with our current budget, and now have no idea what to wear!)
Hat:

Shirt:

Shoes: Like this but navy instead of camo

Hooray for Friday! And Earth Day!
Tonight: Hanging with the dude. Maybe we will go for a walk after work/school.
Tomorrow: More hanging out. Maybe a trip to town. Then dinner with Daddy.
Sunday: Easter dinner with the Van Den Bossche's! YAY YAY YAY!! Then over to the ILs to visit. I can't wait to give him his Easter basket!
Today is DH's birthday, unfortunately we'll see each other for about 2 seconds when he comes home for work as I'm leaving for work :-P I'll have his favorite dinner ready when he gets home and I made him a special birthday cake, too!
Saturday I'm working 5am to 1:30 pm, running home grabbing a quick shower and meeting a friend for pedicures before we head to Portland for dinner and the Cake show at the State. We're meeting up with my best friend for drinks to celebrate her birthday after the show.
Sunday we're getting the girlies all dresses up and stopping by my IL to say a quick hi and heading to by parents for an Easter egg hunt :-)
Hey guys! I've been sick all week with a "flu like illness" - low grade fever, chills, aches, extreme fatigue, BLAHHH, since Sunday night. Booo!
If it's not better in another week I have to go back and get tested for mono. (Seriously?!)
Anyway! I'm feeling a little better today in time for the weekend.
Tonight: hopefully seeing Matt, I have been such boring company this week but hoping to be up to actually doing something tonight.
Tomorrow: My sister is in town from Philly, and it is my birthday on Monday so my family wanted to do a sister/bday/Easter thing. So Matt and the little dude will be meeting my parents and grandmother (he knows my sisters already). I'm a little nervous!
Sunday: supposed to do a 10 mile run in the morning with my cousin. If I am feeling okay I will attempt it! Then I want to re-arrange some stuff at my house and get things better organized.
Today: Delia and I are working from 11:30 to 5:30, coming home and spending time with Daddy. Perhaps knitting up some booties to match Delia's outfit for Sunday?
Tomorrow: The Great Cloth Diaper Change in the am, if I can motivate myself, we will get there early enough for a swag bag. Perhaps a quick loom-knitting lesson afterwards? Meg? I've got to go to the store at some point and get my mom her birthday present. FIL mentioned possibly doing an early Easter dinner tomorrow night but we haven't got a confirmation on that yet. Hopefully DH can get more info today from FIL.
Sunday: Easter Brunch with my family in the morning, which means leaving home by 8am? plus celebrating mom's birthday which was earlier this week. Brunch includes watching an egg hunt for my nieces and nephews. Then scooting back up to Scarborough for an Easter dinner with MIL's family, need to get a time on that from DH, too. I am hoping it's later so I can spend a decent amount of time with my family and not feel rushed. I am very excited to dress Delia up in her little dress, tights and matching headband.
At some point we will be meeting up with DH's aunt, she still hasn't met Delia even though we live just down the road from her. I promised her, so we will have to squeeze that in somewhere too....it's going to be a busy weekend for us!
Jealous! I LOVE Cake. I didn't know they were coming.
Tonight: Pretty low key. DH has worked the past 3 days (12 hour shifts) and I haven't really seen him. He gets home hits the pillow and is out. Doesn't help that the boys have have reverted to their newborn stage and getting up every few hours. I am sleep deprived and hitting the sack early. (god I feel old)
Tomorrow: Spent cleaning, laundry, and maybe out to dinner.
Sunday: Church, lunch with MIL then visit my dad and gram.
Happy Easter and have a great weekend!
Fun!!! 3 concerts in 3 months, great way to spend spring
Cake should be great, I can't wait for the show on Saturday!
Yes should be a great show! I hope you guys have a great time!!
I know it's a bit crazy, I usually go to a concert maybe once a year haha so this should be fun. We are going to see Brett Dennen at the State Theater in May as a birthday present for DH and then going to see Dispatch in June for my birthday.
Tonight- DH is burning brush out back so I think movie night is on hold. If so, it's book night for me!
Tomorrow - The Great Diaper Change and a quick loom session with Lori , that is if I can find my hook, I've been looking all over for it. Bah!
Sunday- Play with Caroline and her Easter basket. Dress her up in her adorable outfit and take a million pictures. Visit DH's paternal grandmother and then head over to the IL's where we'll hang with them and DH's maternal grandmother. No one in his family gets dressed up, but we're doing it b/c I have a cute baby who has lots of dresses that need wearing!
Tonight: Frozen pizza for dinner, a strength training routine, and "It's the Easter Beagle Charlie Brown" on DVD. I would also like to get out for a walk.
Tomorrow: Gym in the morning and probably the grocery store in the afternoon. Then we have a birthday party in the late afternoon for DH's nephew at a scary pool hall. I am a little nervous. Luckily, DH is playing hockey in the early evening, so we only have to stay for an hour. Just long enough for me to get my drink on.
Sunday: Church at 10am and Easter dinner reservations with my family at 2pm. I am excited to give Ridley her Easter backpack (rather than basket). She is really into fairies right now so I got a Tinkerbell backpack and filled it with a bunch of stuff, including Tinkerbell underwear. I think she is going to LOVE it!
Normally we go to my Father & Stepmother's house but this year we're sticking closer to home and are going to MIL&FIL's house for Lasagna
Yum!
I'm hoping to convince MH to go to church with me in the morning.. however we don't have a "home" church so Idk where to go. We'll see how that pans out.
Oh! and tomorrow I'm working in the morning at an art center for their "Artful Egg" celebration, I just made 4 cakes for their cake walk (check them out at www.facebook.com/kingskakesme) And I'm hoping to do something fun like face painting or egg dying
Then tomorrow night I'm working at a benefit dinner for one of my coworker's. He's my age ( a little younger actually) and has been diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. He and his wife just got married in August, and now they're dealing with all of his treatments. It's crazy!
We are also going to see Cake tonight! It was a gift from my parents for DH's birthday way back in January - I cannot believe it's April 23 already. I'm working until 3:00 and then I'm going home to workout and take a nap before the show. Unfortunately, I have to be back at work at 7:00 am tomorrow, but I'm going to try not to think about that too much tonight
Tomorrow we're going out to dinner - it's weird because my family always gets together and cooks for holidays, but DH's family is diminishing, so they have started spending more holidays out for dinner. Since they are all in NY and I am working all weekend, the two of us are just going to spend Easter here. We have actually been away on vacations the past two years, so I guess it's not that strange to not be with family. We're not really religious, so that aspect of the holiday sort of escapes us (surely, that must sound terrible!) I've just got my fingers crossed that we don't wind up with any new guest arrivals at the inn tomorrow, or else I'll have to stay to wait for them to check-in - I need an early day - I am exhausted!
What did you ladies think of the concert? I thought it was a GREAT show!!!
