AW/Rave: My family is awesome
So awesome, in fact, that they made DH cry on the way home yesterday. We had SD from 10-7 yesterday, so we picked her up and took her to church with us. Went home, she took her nap, and then we went to my aunt's house for Easter dinner with the family. My brother and SIL had an Easter basket for SD, which we knew about. What we didn't know was that my parents had one for her also, and then my aunt had one too! SD got 3 Easter baskets from my family, not including the one from us that we gave her last weekend so she could play with her new toys longer. I was really touched and impressed by my family's generosity, and obviously DH was too, because after we dropped off SD and we were on our way home, we talked about it and he got all choked up and started to cry!
From the time DH and I started dating, I was always nervous about how my family would respond to the idea that he had a LO already, to my being a SM, to her once she was around, but they have been amazingly inclusive. My parents call her their granddaughter. I just wanted to tell all of you how great it is that they are so welcoming to her, especially since for my extended family, yesterday was the first time they met her.

This! Even though my mom is no longer with her ex-BF (they were together 10 years) his family welcomed my mom, sis and I into theirs. I still keep in touch with some of my "cousins" and "aunts" every now and then.
IUI #1 10/12/11 (Bravelle + HCG + Prometrium & acupuncture) = 10/26 BFP! Beta #1=250, Beta #2= 615. 1st u/s 11/8.
