EDIT Anniversary Gifts: will you follow tradition?

Re: EDIT Anniversary Gifts: will you follow tradition?

  • Honestly, I have no idea what they are.  Would you mind putting them in your OP? lol, I'm lazy today
  • Highly doubtful...I honestly don't even think Jason knows about those traditions.  We also aren't big gift exchangers, so rather than buying gifts for each other, we'll probably take a small weekend trip or buy something as a couple that we need/want.

  • I believe this is where the terms "silver anniversary" and "golden anniversary" came from

  • thanks love!

I can see us following through with them...although the only thing I really want for an anniversary is a 2nd wedding band.  In the meantime H can just save his money and give me a card and some grocery-store flowers. Lol.

For leather, I'd give H a watch.  He loves watches for some reason.

  • Probably not, because I will never remember!

  • I could see us doing that for part of our gifts...although we've also discussed buying our faux fireplace for our first anniversary and going back to Williamsburg so we shall see!  There is also a more modern list...I don't know which we'd be more likely to use except that I just told DH that I can't wait for our 24th, which is musical instruments :-)  My instrument is very expensive and I don't actually own one, it is borrowed from my school...

Yes, we're going to follow them!  I think it will make our anniversary gifts really fun and creative.  I was thinking--for our first anniversary--I'd give Matt some boudoir photos.  hehe!

  • We are really traditionalists so I am not sure if we will follow them. We are planning on going back to the same place that we went on our mini-moon for our first anniversary, but I am in a wedding that weekend, so we will have to take off work to go.

Like Hannah, I just want a 2nd band, that is what I am holding out for!

That's exactly what I want to do too! Since it would be "paper" and all :)

Assuming the photog I contacted recently goes through w/a fall marathon, DH will be getting these as well!  I guess that does count as paper doesn't it?!

Same here.  I plan to follow them every year.  I think it'll be along the same lines as the frist anniversary, using photos as "paper".  I'll try to be creative with how I'll include each years theme.
