Did everyone have a nice Easter?

we had a good weekend...lots of food yesterday and bennett got a ton of books and some candy (grrrrr). i'm not a candy eater...all this candy around just grosses me out. blegh!

not too much else went on....we had an easter egg hunt fail...we took B to the local hunt on Sat morning and it was cancelled bc the ground was too wet. he could have cared less...we walked around the park and he picked up the bag of candy that they just handed out.

what did you all do?

Re: Did everyone have a nice Easter?

  • Friday, Audrey hung out with ILs for a few hours so we could go out with some of DH's friends to dinner and hang out. She got a huge Easter basket and her first set of golf clubs (the small plastic kind) from them. Saturday, we cleaned up and did a ton of baking and prepping for Sunday. Sunday, we went to church after the bunny came here and had my family over for dinner.

She totally got the whole egg thing. She found most without prompting.. but boy was she even more excited when she realized they had chocolate or stickers in them. We got her some thomas stuff and a potato head bunny and bubbles and chalk and rapunzel doll plus candy. I told her the play doh were drums so we will see how excited she gets when I finally set it up to play with the actual play doh. She kept climbing up on the couch and sneaking chocolates all day! We had to put it up away from her.

She was a bit exhausting at church but that is to be expected.

My dinner turned out great! I made a bacon wrapped pork loin, hash browns, cranberries, roasted asparagus, cranberry swirl cheesecake plus all the stuff my family brought. It was awesome! Everyone raved about everything. :)

  • Glad B enjoyed his Easter even though the Easter egg hunt was canceled.

We went to church with H's family which is always a little awkward for me b/c I'm the only non-Catholic person in his family.  H's one cousin J wore this S.L.U.T.T.Y. dress to church. It was a black satin tank with a scoop neck. Its was way too tight on her and should only maybe be worn to a club. Her boobs were all over the place and it just barely covered her butt. I would have loved to see the look on the priest face when she went up to get communion.

Then we had breakfast with H's family and I helped his mom set up for lunch.dinner. They had about 40-50 people over. The weather was great but my allergies were raging once again. H's other cousin brought his new gf over to meet the family. She had on see through white linen pants on with a midriff barely black scoop neck t on.   SERIOUSLY?!? What is wrong with these girls.

  • I woke up nice and early to do school work before heading to my parents for dinner. Was there for little bit then came back home.  Easter isn't anything huge for us but it was nice to have a big family dinner. I took today off too to finish school work.

  • We didn't really do anything Easter related. No baskets or candy here other than what I may stop to buy today (chocolate on sale - yes, please!).

Friday we went out for my friend's going away party. It was fun, but I really don't want them to move. I'm used to friends coming and going in the military, but it's different when your only friend moves. Blah.

Other than that we just did yardwork and then we girlled chicken and had salads for our Easter dinner.

We don't have a kid area or anything. They think they should be part of the congregation or some blah blah blah. She usually gets a walk around the back open area outside the actual church part once a church session. I wish we had a cry room. Our church isn't big enough for a daycare part.
