Tell Us Tuesday

If you could go back in time and re-do any year in school (elementary through college) which year would you pick and why?

Re: Tell Us Tuesday

  • First year of college...I would have worked a little harder at doing the work and going to class.  I would have benefited from a year off after high school to figure out what I wanted to do.

  • 1st year of college for sure.  I was such a slacker and my grades proved that.  I would have worked a lot harder than I did.

  • hmmm...I really don't have any regrets. I guess I could've always worked a little harder! I have horrible study habits...I just don't do it.
  • I would go back and do my junior year of college.  I got really involved in some organizations on campus and my school work suffered, I really wish I had studied harder...

  • Ditto first year of college, not so much the school work because I did pretty well.  But more the choices I made as far as men and friends are concerned....ugh.

  • I really enjoyed my freshman year in high school. I am crazy, I know! I was very active in my early years of high school - clubs, dance team, a few cute boyfriends...hot seniors to look at...oh yeah.

  • Hmmm, probably my senior year of high school - I made some bad choices especially with one guy I was dating that led me to stay home and commute to college instead of going away to school.

While I'm happy where I ended up today, and I really don't know if I would've met my husband had I moved away, I sometimes wish I had moved out of state for school.

  • first year of college, for sure. I worked pretty hard and did really well in school, but it was more poor social/relationship decisions.

  • Probably senior year of high school.  I would make different decisions about my future.  I'm happy with how my life and career turned out but would make some different decisions if I could go back now.

This for sure.  Although I didn't take the AP bio test in high school because I wasn't confident in myself.  Every single person in my class got a 4 or a 5 on it.  All I needed to get was a 3 to skip a couple science classes in college.  Of course the one science class that killed me was one of the ones I could have skipped all together.  As a direct result of that class, my college career totally turned.  If only I had taken that darn test!

  • Hmmmm I guess it's a tie.

I would possibly redo my Sophomore year of high school because I let some jerk sort of bully me and I also would have done my hair better (it was pretty hideous that year).

Orrrrr I would redo my Freshmen year of college because I dropped every class my second semester after my grandmother died for no good reason aside from having insomnia and just not feeling like it, I was depressed but not so depressed that I coudn't have done the classes they were super easy. It's embarassing even admitting that, and actually no one IRL knows about it.

  • I would choose my senior year of high school. I went through a bad breakup with a boyfriend and slipped into a little bit of depression. I tried getting him back and it just kept me from having an awesome senior year. I didn't go to prom and missed out on alot of other things. I still had a fun last year, but had I just let him go, it would have been much more fun. Looking back, I was a stupid girl, but I definitely learned from that!
  • First year of college.  I took advantage of my new freedom but skipping class a lot!  I did not do very well that first semester and really regret it. I see it as a waste of my dad's money and I still feel bad that I did that.

  • Freshman year of high school for sure. I was so shy and unmotivated and it kind of set the tone for all 4 years. I would have done more extra curricular activities and worked harder to get better grades.
  • Senior year in hs/freshman year in college.  I would have picked a different career path.  I'd hate to say that I would have moved out of state because that would have changed where I am now in my life, but if I could still have Dh and my marriage and kiddies then I wish I moved someplace warm and sunny :)

  • freshman year in college.  I would have not been such a hermit & tried to make some more friends.  I pledged a co-ed fraternity & ended up dropping out because I just couldn't make the time commitment but I really wish I would have stuck it out.  DH is in a fraternity & it's so great to have that group of friends.

  • Sophomore year of college...starting dating a guy (and continued to date for years) and spent all my time at his college and my grades suffered big time and took so long to get my GPA back up.  I am still so pissed about how much I missed out on because of that DB.

  • I don't have any regrets academic-wise, but I would LOVE to redo my freshman year of college, it was just so much fun. Probably one of the best years of my life! Also junior year was pretty amazing too.

  • Freshman year of HS. I totally slacked off big time and it ruined my GPA. I worked incredibly hard the next 3 years to get it back up.

  • Freshman year in High School.  I was a little mad about changing schools in the first semester and I acted out by not doing homework.  That 1 year put a good dent in my GPA.  I pretty sure I would have qualified for some scholarships if I did better.

  • 1st year at Wayne State (my first 2 semesters were at WCCC then I transferred).  I'd have pledged the sorority right then & there instead of waiting as long as I did so I could've spent more time in it.
