Re: BSC Family Easter recaps

  • Kbaby -  I meant to text you on Sunday night too!  But I was exhausted, and forgot :(

My parents are amazing people and invite MIL to holidays that they host, because they love DH and try to make it easy on us by not having to do multiple family functions in one day.

We were 20 minutes late, so everyone was there and waiting on us to eat.  LO needed to eat as well.  We started to unload all of the gifts, and food I made and I was trying to get his bottle ready.  MIL comes rushing over in her back brace and cane (didn't expect to see all of that, I didn't know she had all of that going on) trying to take my kid from me.  I told her she can go sit down and I will bring him to her once we were situated.  She started grabbing at him, so I told her that she was not going to hold my child while wearing a back brace and using a cane, and walk around with him.  He throws himself backwards, and she could drop him.  She huffed and puffed and walked away.

Then she kept making annoucements how I don't allow her to see him, that's why she has only seen him 4 times.   Mind you she has cancelled on us multiple times and would rather spend time with her boyfriend.  But this part doesn't bother me at all! :)

Then she made it clear that she should be watching him during the day and he shouldn't be in day care.  I explained that he is only there 3 days a week, and it's good for him, so she should let it go.

I thought she was bad before, and now with a kid, she is even worse!  I just try to avoid her at all costs.

    Some questions...

    1. How much perfume did she put on this time?

    2. What in the h did she do to her back?

    3. Where are my pictures of Nick dressed up?

  • 1. How much perfume did she put on this time? not as much as last time, but still too much, and she still smelled like an ashtray

    2. What in the h did she do to her back? she is one to work the system, so some car accident from 4 years ago caused her to need back surgery all of the sudden.  Is it mean that I didn't even ask?

    3. Where are my pictures of Nick dressed up?  My sister took pics with my camera and they are horrible!  She is sooo fired.  My Dad is sending me his later, so I will get you them soon.

Did you see his 3 month photos on FB?

  • I thought I didn't have a story, but I do.

We were sent a Sees Candy basket. On Saturday I was informed that she tried to find the most 'chocolate heavy' one so I wouldn't eat it all. Since I am allergic to chocolate and we don't often have it in the house, she thought DH could use some chocolate since I deprive him of it all year. She called to make sure the basket was all chocolate so that I knew it was for DH.

FYI...we have chocolate in our house all the time. It's not like I don't allow it in my house.

First off...sorry you are allergic to chocolate :(  I don't know how you do it!

Second, ummmm why can't she get something that all of you can enjoy?  that's kind of rude!  Does she think that you sit around enjoying boxes of chocolate all day?

  • No great BSC stories since we stayed home and avoided family this Easter although MIL has spent the last two weeks attempting to guilt/bribe us into coming to the gathering they had at H's Cousin's house.

The funny part was when I heard H on the phone Sunday morning say "I don't care about coloring Easter eggs Mom!" Apparently MIL is under the impression that H is still 6 yrs old.

Of course this is the same woman who suggested she be in the delivery room just in case H needs something.....

Your husband might need a  foot rub or back massage.  Being a coach is very hard work, screw the chick in the bed in pain, she doesn't need anything!

    Huh?

Then again I suppose it could get uncomfortable for him, he really may need a pillow or a drink of water or something. Stick out tongue

LOL interrupting! When I was pushing, DH said he needed to sit down because he was tired. He waled over to the couch, sat down long enough for me to give him the dirtiest look known to man & he came back over. I was PISSED! Hello ding dong, if you're tired just standing there,  imagine how tired I was! He's never living that down :)

LMAO - that's hilarious. I wouldn't let him live that down either! It reminds me of the Friends episode where Rachel has her baby and Ross hits his head and says something like "you have no idea how bad that hurt" and the Dr and everyone just stare at him.
