Allie has another dd ear infection. So far she has had two dd and two single ear infections since November. I had MANY ear issues growing up and had many surgeries. I want to be pro active about where to go from here. I did not bring her today so I did not get to have the conversation. She has her 9 month checkup on Friday and I will bring it up then. But I wanted to hear from you ladies what your experience has been.
Re: ear infections
I think every child is very different. Ben didn't have a lot of infections but he constantly had fluid in his ear between 12-18 months. I was concerned about speech delays but he was still very young and my pediatrician said don't rush into it because often once you start with tubes children need them reinserted several times. The speech issue she said not to worry about at all as long as he was trying to speak, which he always has, it just wasn't super clear. Then last summer his ears cleared up and he's been fine ever since, and we just went an entire winter with no ear infections for him (Maddy only had one so far).
There are so many factors that go into whether a child will be "prone" to ear infections or whether he/she will need tubes, when they need them, time of year when it's all happening, etc.
I hope that you get it figured out and she is better soon!
